Yes, I am still here. The last few months have brought great changes to my personal life. And although none of it is bad, it does leave me feeling like I have to take a step back every now and then. Changing the pace so to speak.

Papercrafting is another hobby of mine and this seemed like a nice model to try.
I did not design it, I just downloaded the template and put it together. I used 200 grams paper to build the Hulk. (He stands 23 cm or about 9 inches tall!) Standard 80 grams paper seemed a little flimsy for this build.
This guy designed a whole lot of these superhero models and my next build will be his Phoenix model.

Although she is smaller, that stand she is on is 7 pages big, while Phoenix herself is just 4 pages! Still, looking forward to putting it together. (Hulk is 6 pages total)

Glad to hear you're doing good, Mr Chaos! By the way, I like those papercrafting models... seems complex though. Hmm... maybe you could help us code stuff in Forge after all since you're used to this sort of complexity

Cutting out a model, folding and glueing it together is doable for me, coding is not.
Having said that, sometimes the model is too complex for me.
These superhero dolls are reasonably simple, with mostly straight edges. Some models require lots of curved surfaces or tiny parts or they are just BIG.
Check out this giant robot model from Japan, it is a whopping 51 pages big!

(I feel sorry for the printer that has to spit out all those pages, even if you use colored paper instead of standard white paper.)

In our country (Philippines), there is one immensely popular papercraft series of robots that has really attracted a huge fanbase.

Very similar to Transformers.

Just search for "Foldabots" in google. They might interest you Mr Chaos.

I had a look at the foldabots, but they are a commercial project, you have to pay to get them.
They do look good though but I prefer to stick to the many free models found on the internet.

They started out in a kid's magazine where later on due to popularity the creator decided to create a magazine of his own for these models.

Gotta agree on what you said about the free stuff... the best things in life need not to be paid for kinda like Forge for instance

Well, there are sop many great free models available that for me to pay for a papermodel, it would have to be something really special.
Besides, I still have a huge pile of free models I want to make. Plenty left to do before I grab some paid stuff..

Breaking out from the Great Firewall of China is very hard to do. You need to have an efficient VPN connection like the one that I have from SUNVPN. Every time I go visit my relatives in Beijing, I always make sure that my connection is working fine.
