Wow! This update rocks for library destruction! I'll have to post my new BU Library Grinder once I'm done testing it. So many fun library kills to do now! Just when I thought a Millstone were fun!

Does this mean I have to restart my quest whenever a new version is released? I was looking forward very much to using all of my old card pool with the new mill effects.

i could try to convert the quest mode to use the same plain text files as the other modes, that should make them more compatible

It looks like the questData file somehow became corrupted. :(

Do you still have the 11-25 version of Forge or did you delete it? If you still have the old version or if you have a backup of the questData file you can replace the corrupted questData file with a good one.

People tend to develop a habit of moving a copy of the old deck file(s), quest files, pics, etc. from the earlier version of Forge to the newest version. I tend to keep several of the older versions on my HD in case something happens. Better to be safe than sorry.

This was a rare occurrence though, I usually don't go renaming pre-existing cards... Anyway, I'm really sorry, I didn't think it would screw up existing quest save games :(

I hope you have another QuestData file backed up, if you do, you could make another copy of that file and edit it with a text editor. I imagine changing all instances of "Aether Membrane" to "AEther Membrane" in the QuestData could fix things also (but it goes without saying that backing up first is a must, since one mistake could corrupt the whole thing as well).

Man, this still doesn't work. Fortunately, I regenerated and copied the QuestData file by playing a match in the 11/25 version, which eliminated the previous two errors, but even more fortunately, trying to edit my decks rehashed -- you guessed it -- the AEther Membrane one. Seeing no other source for it, I manually replaced 'Aether Membrane' with 'AEther Membrane' in QuestData, causing these errors upon continuing the quest:

Argh. :evil: Am I doomed to one of (a) this set of bugs, (b) that set of bugs, or (c) not getting to use the old cards (which included 16 Lightning Helix [Helices?])? (You could probably cheat every card into your pool, but it's much more fun the other way.)

Hmm, bummer. It's possible that even editing + saving the QuestData file corrupts the data. Depending on the text editor used...Anyway, the error message you're getting definitely implies some corruption of data.

What if you try this:

1. Install a fresh copy of the 12/14 Beta.
2. Copy your old saved QuestData file (that has the Aether Membranes) into res\quest.
3. Open cards.txt of the 12/14 Beta in a text editor and rename AEther Membrane back to Aether Membrane again.

That should work, right ?

Hmmm, I have an idea. If you have an unaltered copy of the "questData" file then place a copy of it in the Forge 12-14 "quest" folder. Do not try editing this file.

Instead, edit the "uncommon.txt" file that is also located in the Forge 12-14 "quest" folder. The first card named should be renamed to AEther Membrane

Most people will only have to edit the "uncommon.txt" file. If this file has been edited correctly, then odds are pretty good that Forge 12-14 will work with the "questData" file from the previous version.

It is possible that one of the cards in your quest card pool is "Aether Membrane". If you can compress your "questData" file as a zip or rar file and attach it to a message, then someone will find a way to edit this file to make it work with Forge 12-14. We like a good challenge and we will give it our best. :)

My uncommon.txt, and as far as I know all of my 12/14 files except for the 11/25 QuestData I've been attempting to reuse, refers to 'AEther Membrane' and not 'Aether Membrane', but the problem still persists (I wonder why none of the alphabetically earlier AEther cards causes similar trouble? :-k ).

However, I've posted my QuestData file on MediaFire in the hope someone smarter than I (i.e., any of you guys here) can find and fix the problem. Go forth, and do something cool! http://tinyurl.com/forge1125questdata

Your questData file has saveral "Aether Membrane" entries. I have changed them to the new spelling "AEther Membrane". I tried it with my Forge 12-14 version and it now complains about the AI deck "Buffy 1".

Download the attached QuestData file and try it with your copy of Forge 12-14. If you get an error exception window complaining about the AI deck "Buffy 1", then copy over the following files from your previous version of Forge:

easy.txt
medium.txt
hard.txt

And you should be good to go, I hope. [-o<

There were several incompatible versions of the various files found in the /quest/ folder. These files can not be mixed and matched. If you try you will get the AI deck "Buffy 1" error exception.

I am trying to make sure that the SVN files have the most recent quest files and rarity files so that in the future we should not have these files go out of sync to often. The data files will sometimes go out of sync and we are very sorry that this happens at times. :oops:

OK, I fixed it. You have 451 wins and no loses. There are 2957 cards in your card pool. For those who are curious, I edited the file from within Eclipse.
