The AI thinks it's being smart by not attacking with its Soltari Foot Soldier so it can chump block my...non-shadow creatures.

Since I haven't yet found how to play more than a few games at a time before running out of memory (perhaps it's continually adding the images of cards that any of my 'opponents' or I use without ever releasing any of them, but Forge still crashes even when I try to play against the same decks as often as possible without switching or editing mine [I used to scroll down through the entire card pool, causing a lot of pictures to be displayed along the way]), I've decided to play without images (even low-res) altogether. Despite the variable card widths depending on name lengths, I actually find this new style quite efficient and almost as good as the old. :)

EDIT: Off by one: I can play Serra Avenger during my third turn.

Counterspell should work just fine, just cast it whenever a spell is on the stack and the spell should be countered.
i.e. Bait with weaker spells when up against a counterspell deck.

Yup, he improved Forge by 100% with three or so lines of code. I could download the pictures and resized them but I couldn't figure out how to rotate them 90 degrees.

I play Forge on a very old computer, 730 mhz cpu and 256 MB of ram and state effects like slivers and Glorious Anthem do slow it down but other than that the game plays fine. Sometimes I do close Forge and open it up again after 5 to 10 games because sometimes the games slow to a crawl.

Maybe your Java installation is messed up, you could uninstall Java and re-install it.

I love the new Deck Editor filters. I created 10 multicolored decks and the filters made it MUCH easier.
