Yes, this must be a very rare crash. I just bought some 40+ ONS booster boxes and fat packs for testing but it didn't crash even once. So yeah, just keep an eye on it, just in case.Phoenix wrote:I bought several booster, fat, standard and tournament packs.
I didn't think that the programm will crash while doing that. That's why I didn't look which pack worked and which one crashed.
But now I try to have an eye on that.
Thanks anyway for your help.

Can somebody help ?
Current version of Forge doesn't launch for me. Last version I had was working fine, but it was from ~1.5 years ago.
Do I need to update java ? It's the only thing that comes to mind.

You need Java 7 or Java 8 to play Forge nowadays. If you're at least on Java 7, things should be fine (otherwise you need to update).Hexadecimal wrote:Can somebody help ?

If you're on modern enough Java and you still can't launch Forge, can you please tell me what exactly you're getting (are you getting a crash? a blank window? etc.). Also, if you have forge.log generated in your profile folder, please paste its full contents here.

I have java 8. I'm getting an almost instant crash. Cursor briefly changes after clicking the exe, but window doesn't actually appear.Agetian wrote:You need Java 7 or Java 8 to play Forge nowadays. If you're at least on Java 7, things should be fine (otherwise you need to update).

It seems that Forge can't find the default skin.

Hmm, this potentially indicates that something was not fully unpacked or got corrupt somewhere along the way (possibly a corrupt downloaded archive?) Can you try redownloading from scratch, unpacking again and running once more from a fresh unpacked installation?Hexadecimal wrote:I have java 8. I'm getting an almost instant crash. Whenever I animate Gideon, Ally of Zendikar (with his +1) and I have no other creatures, Forge skips right through my combat phase. I don't get to attack with Gideon unless I also control another creature.

@Xyx: This is really strange, I just tested it (in a recent trunk build) and it seems to work fine. I guess that it must have been already taken care of upstream, though I don't remember a specific commit that would have solved an issue like that. :/ Maybe there are some other preconditions to this that I'm missing?..

Odd. I tried it a few more times and now it worked. I don't know what it was but there sure wasn't any "can't attack" business going on. I'm using the r...whatsit 1.5.60 snapshot that you pointed me to, by the way.

Hmm, really odd... at any rate, if it happens again, let me know and please also take a screenshot of the battlefield, just in case.Xyx wrote:Odd. I tried it a few more times and now it worked. Will do.
In the meantime... these are old bugs and not serious but I keep running into them:
1. If I'm setting up a Constructed match and want to give the AI another deck, I click big giant button named "Custom User Decks: blablabla" next to the AI's picture. Sometimes there's a problem where the deck list will not change to the AI's selected deck. Instead, it will show my deck selection. This seems to be the case when I've entered some text in the name filter box. Clicking the AI deck button a second time will make the switch properly. I've accidentally selected the wrong decks quite a few times this way.
2. In the Deck Editor, if I change the Deck Title, there's often some weirdness. If I type numbers or other non-letter characters, they will appear in the text box normally, but as soon as I type a letter, the textbox will reset. From there on out it will behave correctly. If I switch to a new deck, the deck title will be selected but typing will not replace the selection. Instead, the text will become deselected and the characters I enter will appear after the text. I've accidentally misnamed quite a few decks this way.

Something must be wrong with my quest save file or something cause Forge, no matter which version it is, crashes when it tries to load the quest file. It'll launch if i cut and paste the save somewhere else, though. Can anyone help me out with this?

If you look at the file in Explorer, does it say it's 0 bytes? If it does, you've got a corrupt file. Delete it and then remove the .bak from the backup to restore your file.
