This issue has been hot-patched as well.
If you need it fixed before the next release is up, please redownload the .apk from this link: https://releases.cardforge.org/forge/fo ... ligned.apk and install it manually (no need to redownload the assets). This should help.

Anyone who downloaded Forge for Android v1.6.1.001 before this message appeared, please redownload the .apk manually from the link above and install it if you'd like to apply the hotfix.

I have downloaded the update and the program crashes at the "Finishing Startup" phase everytime. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times with the same result.

Hmm, maybe the assets became corrupt for whatever reason when you first installed the game (the latest version anyway). Can you try reinstalling completely (not only the .apk, but also deleting the "res" data folder in the Forge folder)?

Also, posting the contents of "Forge.log" from the "data" folder inside your Forge folder might help figure out what exactly is wrong, especially if the full reinstall doesn't help either.

Recently I bought an android tablet and Forge was one of the must have apps for me but I found a problem with my device. In landscape mode i can't choose other modes for New Game and Load Game. I've tried it on my phone and there should be a menu on the right side to select the mode you want but on the tablet there is none, maybe its because of the aspect ratio? Here is a screenshot I took, i'm running a custom theme but i have the same issue with the default one. Sorry if this has already been discussed and other than this the game runs great.

@ Rooger: Can you try tapping that "Constructed" label on top? That normally serves as a form of a dropdown menu. :)

I've tried that and it doesn't seem to work...which is odd because that's how portrait works. Swiping in any direction also doesn't work. The only way i'm able to go to other modes is by choosing them in portrait and then switching back to landscape, the previously selected mode remains active. Not sure if it's relevant but the tablet in question is a samsung galaxy tab s2 (sm t813) and i'm running android 7.

For now i'm using portrait mode and i'm liking it anyway, it's just a matter of getting used to the new layout. So don't worry too much about it, this can be fixed in the future if someone reports the same issue :D (if there is something to be fixed that is...)

That's actually really odd, none of my devices suffer from this issue. Are you on a device with some kind of a non-traditional display/resolution?

I don't know what is the standard aspect ratio/resolution for tablets these days but on this device the aspect ratio is 4:3 and the resolution is 2048x1536. I guess that the aspect ratio might have something to do with this since i don't see the menu on the right side as I see on my phone. Are you able to use a drop-down menu when tapping Constructed on your devices? (on landscape mode)
It might be some other problem with this specific tablet model but either way i'm enjoying the portrait mode and i'll stick to it for now.

Hmm, none of my devices go that high and yeah, I haven't seen a 4:3 tablet with such a high resolution yet, so maybe that's why :/ Normally there should be an actual menu on the right, but it appears to be cut off on your screen for some reason. The original Forge for Android code was designed with 16:9/16:10 resolutions in mind, which is what most tablets and phones seem to use. I'll see if I can figure out what might be up with that 4:3 mode, though I can't emulate such a high res on my ordinary monitor either...

Using the Moto G5 Plus (Amazon Version) the game will freeze if I leave the app. As long as I stay in the game it seems to work flawlessly.

I have the same issue with my LG k10.

Hey guys, first of all great work on forge. It's amazing and I really am thankful for the awesome work you've done!

That being said, my enjoyment of the app would skyrocket if we could implement online mode. The button is so tantalizing but it seems that no development is being done for it. Is there an eta for it, or is it being mostly ignored for now?
