Seems like it, a bunch of new stuff has been accomplished lately. I'm pretty impressed with how much the programmers have been able to do recently.

Is anyone working on split cards? Forge already has kicker and alternate casting costs, so it doesn't seem out of reach...

I believe the problem with the split cards is the wacky way that they determine their mana cost, like how Life//Death has both a cost of 1 and 2 and its CMC is 1+2.

Would it be possible to make these cards?

It's a bit more complex than that, you may exile Life//Death to a Sickening Shoal for X=2. In this case it counts the cc and color of the spell "Death". Same for Supply//Demand with Shining Shoal, you can choose X=2 or X=3, but NOT X=5. However, Dark Confidant will make you lose 3 life when you draw Life//Death and 5 life when you draw Supply//Demand.
