So, for the sake of argument, I looked at all the Unglued cards. The basic facts of Unglued:
28 Rares
28 Uncommons
39 Commons
Does 12,246 include Unhinged and Unglued? I didn't think they were counted as they were never intended to be played at tournament level. Whatever the case, please don't add those cards to forge. There aren't many you can do anyway, because most of them require something silly and ignorant. - otherright 01 Dec 2011, 11:46
I subtracted the ones that are very silly to me, and also that looks impossible to program to me. Here's what I got. Next to each card I put an R, U, or C to tell whether it was a rare(R) uncommon(U) or common(C).
Burning Cinder Fury of Crimson Chaos Fire R
Chicken a la King R
Chicken Egg C
Clambassadors C
Denied! C
Elvish Impersonators C
Flock of Rabid Sheep U
Fowl Play C
Free-for-All R
Goblin Bookie C
Growth Spurt C
Hungry Hungry Heifer U
Incoming! R
Jack-in-the-Mox R
Jumbo Imp U
Krazy Kow C
Mine, Mine, Mine! R
Organ Harvest C
Paper Tiger C
Poultrygeist C
Ricochet U
Rock Lobster C
Scissors Lizard C
Strategy, Schmategy R
Team Spirit C
Temp of the Damned C
The Cheese Stands Alone R
The Ultimate
Nightmare of Wizards of the Coast Customer Service U
Timmy, Power Gamer R
Urza's Science Fair Project U
Here's the facts:
1. The set is small to begin with.
2. Creature tokens that came with the original packs use up many uncommon slots of the set.
3. Most of the uncommons are silly, with only 6 uncommons that are not silly.
4. The set is over two thirds silly.
The above list is thirty cards that isn't singing, balancing, rhyming, dancing, or going to the soda machine. As I was talking to my friends about the utility of Unglued to Sunday morning magic, what was basically discussed was that
Goblin Bookie would go well with my friend's
Soldier of Fortune deck, that
Timmy, Power Gamer and the Cheese Stands alone could see some real play, and that
Hungry Hungry Heifer and
Giant Fan could see some casual fun with
Time Vault. If the project were undertaken, thirtyish cards is probably at most what could be done, unless
Falling Star can be made to work in a two dimensional planet.
Since Un-cards aren't legal in any format, I think it might be better if we avoid making those." Friorsol, 19 Jan 2011, 23:41
There's my two cents. Take it either as a recommendation to do it, or as a recommendation to not do it.
