Forge: 02/25/2018 ver 1.6.7
Desktop: https://releases.cardforge.org/forge/forge-gui-desktop/1.6.7/forge-gui-desktop-1.6.7.tar.bz2
Forge now requires Java 8 (or newer). You will not be able to start the game if you are not yet running Java 8.
We have a Discord server for hanging out with Forge devs and other Forge fans. Feel free to jump on in and say hi!
Online Multiplayer is once again functional!
New Cards
Kaboom!; Imprison; Palace Jailer; Orzhov Advokist
New Quest World: Amonkhet
A new quest world submitted by Schnautzr is available, based on the Amonkhet block. It's a small quest world featuring a variety of decks and challenges with cards from Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation.
New Quest World: Invasion
A new quest world submitted by Seravy is available, based on the Invasion block.
Quest Mode: Foil cards in decks
In Quest mode, planeswalkers provided in planeswalker decks will now be foil, as they are in their paper counterparts. Also, in certain other decks, certain cards are foiled if they are foiled in the original official paper release.
Boxed Set Support
Support for several boxed sets has been added, namely, Anthologies (ATH), Battle Royale (BRB), Beatdown (BTD), Deckmasters: Garfield vs. Finkel (DKM), and Duels of the Planeswalkers special decks set (DPA).
MTGO Sets
Five new sets are available which are indexed by Scryfall and which are MTGO exclusive are now supported in Forge: Commander Theme Decks (TD0), Magic Online Deck Series (TD1), Duel Decks: Mirrodin Pure vs. New Phyrexia (TD2), Legendary Cube (PZ1), and Treasure Chests (PZ2)
Option to foil cards in deck editor (Desktop Forge)
A new set of context menu commands has been added to the deck editor which allows to foil the cards in deck ("Foil card", "Foil 4 copies of card", "Foil X copies of card"). This option is currently only available in desktop Forge.
Online Multiplayer
Online Multiplayer is once again (mostly) functional. We've successfully played mutliple games between both local network and remote (over the Internet) opponents. However, that is not to say that it's completely bug free. For a list of known issues and guidance on setting it up, please see: https://git.cardforge.org/core-develope ... ultiplayer.

Bug fixes
As always, this release of Forge features an assortment of bug fixes and improvements based on user feedback during the previous release run.
Images for the latest sets will be available soon.
Online multiplayer functionality has been restored, but is still a Work in Progress. We do have a dedicated developer actively working on the online multiplayer feature.
At least two cards that have a clause that says "if a card cast this way would be put into a graveyard this turn, exile it instead" (Kess, Dissident Mage and Bosium Strip) will fail to interact correctly in corner cases where another card is allowing you to also cast cards from the graveyard at the same time, but allows you not to exile them. This needs a better implementation of a check that would allow to determine that the card is being cast via a MayPlay effect from a particular source.
There is a known issue with the cost reduction for cards that have color-locked X in their mana cost (e.g. Drain Life, Soul Burn). Cost reduction will not apply correctly to these cards if the amount by which the cost is reduced is greater than the amount of colorless mana in the mana cost specified on the card (e.g. 1 for Drain Life, 2 for Soul Burn). Fixing this issue likely requires rewriting the way announced color-locked X is interpreted and paid (most likely it has to be represented with colorless mana shards but still locked to the colors required by the card).
Currently Improvise is implemented as a "clone" of Convoke keyword, which does not work correctly in corner cases (for example, together with an instance of Convoke or Delve). This is planned to be addressed soon.
Replacement effects that happen when a card moves from zone to zone (e.g. ETB replacement effect of Essence of the Wild; Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet replacement effect for a dying creature) need some rework to allow all of them to work in a rule-exact way without the need for special exclusions and hacks (see ReplacementHandler.java:120).
Several people have noticed that the cards displayed on the battlefield will fail to be displayed when the number of cards on the battlefield increases. Maximizing the human panel can help to re-display the cards.
Some time was spent turning the static ETB triggers into the proper ETB replacement effects they should be, mainly to interact correctly with each other. This work is not yet finished. As a result there is currently some inconsistencies with "Enters the battlefield with counters" (Not incredibly noticeable).
A recent contribution to the code base should fix some of the bugs that people noticed with cloning type abilities. At this time there is one remaining issue that we hope will be addressed in the near future:
Copies of cards that setup Zone Change triggers via addComesIntoPlayCommand and addLeavesPlayCommand will not function correctly.
The Forge archive includes a MANUAL.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.
The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.
Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.
Once the Forge archive has been decompressed you should then be able to launch Forge by using the included launcher. Launching Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file in the past caused a java heap space error. Forge's memory requirements have increased over time and the launchers increase the java heap space available to Forge. Currently you can launch Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file without a java heap space error but this is likely to change as we add in more sounds, icons, etc.
- The Mac OS application version -
We haven't been able to distribute the OS X Application version of Forge in sometime. We've recently automated our release tools, and will continue to look in the viability of creating this file now that things are autoamted.
- Online Multiplayer -
For local network play you should only need two systems running Forge. One to host and one to join and play. For remote (over the Internet) play you will need to ensure that the port used (36743 by default) is forwarded to the hosting machine.

DKM - Icy Manipulator and Incinerate should have 2 versions. One foil and one non-foil.

Platinum Angel is still causing opponents life totals to go negative and nobody loses the game. The only way to make my opponents lose it to kill my own Platinum Angel.
I have posted this several times now and have not been responded to. Is it a known issue or something? Do you need more info on this?
Let me know if I can get you anymore info or if I am just repeating myself about an issue you already are working on...
Thanks.
Edit: Wow that sounded significantly more rude than intended. So just read the tl;dr
tl;dr: Platinum Angel no worky correctly. Fix when you can and have a great day!

I've created an issue to track this: #170CokedUpZombie wrote:Platinum Angel is still causing opponents life totals to go negative and nobody loses the game. The only way to make my opponents lose it to kill my own Platinum Angel.
The forum software won't let me post links (claims it's too spammy).

My opponent had 2 token copies of Chronozoa, both with 3 time counters, in play when I played Blasphemous Act. It created 4 token copies of Chronozoa, none had any time counters.

Noted. One of the other developers believes they have found and fixed the issue (in development).gos wrote:My opponent had 2 token copies of Chronozoa, both with 3 time counters, in play when I played Blasphemous Act. It created 4 token copies of Chronozoa, none had any time counters.

I wrote the same post in the Android thread today, because I only play on Android, but I tested suspend cards on the newest desktop version today (1.6.7) and the cards behave the same way. So I thought I would repost here to get more eyes on it.
Is there a bug with suspend cards? I can't find any other mentions of it, but there seem to be a lot of problems with how suspend cards work right now. Here are a few things I noticed, though I have other problems with them too.
1. once the suspended creature enters the battlefield, I can no longer target it with spells. If I try to put an enchantment on it or cast an instant the log just says it fizzles, mine and opponents.
2. If I click on a suspended card that has entered the battlefield, even if it has any activated abilities, it asks me if I want to cast the card (for its original casting cost). A copy of the card usually appears in my hand even if I click cancel, which I can cast though it no longer gives the suspend option, but usually does nothing.
3. If I click on suspended cards while they are exiled or a suspend card in my graveyard it asks if I want to cast it. If it is a card like Search for Tomorrow I can keep recasting it and getting land. And again if I click cancel it puts a copy in my hand. I can then cast the card from my hand even though a copy is still exiled.
4. I can't attack or defend with suspend creatures that have entered the battlefield, if I want to attack with a suspend creature I have to alpha strike and unclick everything else.
5. I couldn't get any cards that interact with suspend tokens to interact correctly, mostly because it would ask if I wanted to cast the suspended card when I targeted it with an ability like that. The specific card was the Rift Elemental. The other card was Greater Gargadon. It would not let me sac anything to take counters off, it would just ask if I wanted to cast it.
6. Unrelated to suspend, but I wonder if there is a similar problem with morph cards, since currently an AI opponent has a Weathered Bodygaurds in his graveyard, and I am unable to deal damage to the player since when I attack the log says I deal the damage to the bodyguard since it is untapped, even though it is currently in the graveyard.
This all occurred in Quest Mode tournaments on the latest Android release (1.6.6.004). It definitely happened in v1.6.5 too.
If you need anymore information please let me know.
Thank you for the great game!

. Grindstone doesn't seem to work correctly.
I Grindstone in play and activated it. My opponent merely put 2 cards into his graveyard. In the first case, they were both black, in the second case it was a land and a black card.

Nope. Card pics are stored in a folder that updating Forge won't affect.

Fungal behemoth: Suspended mode does not work.
No time counter won't be removed and no +1/+1-counters to be distributed.
I tried a few times, it never gave me counters, it never comes out of suspences.

One more thing about Platinum Angel that I forgot to mention. It works correctly on mobile just not on desktop.
Thanks again for this amazing app and your hard work.
