Quest mode

Hello all.

It has been quite a few years since I last playtested this (2009ish?). Finding quest mode ridiculously stupid in terms of what the op plays vs what I get. I am trying to play with a limited pool but finding the combo decks that the quest "AI" uses to be quite cheaty face. Am I missing some settings (there are many many many more than when I last used this.) that would make this less so?

Hello everyone,

I have registered here to create a thread just like this, but already found one. Glad I'm not alone in this.

To me MtG never was about using the best against the best, but working with what I had, against other sub-optimal decks. The only way I can currently enjoy dueling the Forge Quest AI is to unlock entire sets and try to build an uber-deck, which partially defeats the purpose of playing a quest mode in the first place.

Outside this issue, The Forge is everything I ever wanted a computer MtG to be.

Maybe you could try:
-setting the difficulty on easy (so that you get a booster even if you lose)
-playing with a limited pool (like only both Ixalan blocks) for more synergistic decks and avoid the sets with a very low power level like BFZ
-buying the plant and a pet so that you get a headstart
-playing in a quest world with limited sets (but some of them could be even more challenging than the main world)
-traveling to older quest worlds to get powerful cards like Moxes, Sol Ring, Lightning Bolt etc. and selling the other cards for a money boost.
-playing cards that need skill for the opponent (punisher cards or something like Phyrexian Obliterator), they are much stronger against the dumb AI than a human
-enable more quest opponent options in the setting, that way you can always play against medium or easy opponents instead of hard ones

Just some ideas, I hope that helps. The most important factors are of course deckbuilding and card evaluation, but there you are already trying as hard as you can I assume.

I was going through the spell shop and lost the price column and can't seem to get it back. Anyone know how to get it back? I've tried the check box and sliding the column bars but don't see it.
