I would like to second the question posed by ponpossessed: why is this update asking for permission to change system settings? What reason could the app possibly have for needing this access?

UPDATE (09/07/19): Forge for Android v1.6.28.002 has been released. It's a hotfix version aiming to fix compatibility with certain phone models, primarily older ones. Enjoy!

Most likely this is caused by the change which allows Forge to properly recover from wake up after the phone/tablet's been shut down (there was some progress in that area if I recall correctly), however, I'll leave answering this question properly to somebody else at the moment, since due to heavy pressure at work I've been somewhat out of the loop except for doing the timed release.RollingMan wrote:I would like to second the question posed by ponpossessed: why is this update asking for permission to change system settings? The write system settings access is for the screen timeout adjustment. So that when the app downloads, it will adjust the screen display timeout to its maximum amount for the device, and returns the settings to former screen timeout after the download finished or cancelled. Here: https://git.cardforge.org/core-develope ... 2055/diffs
We can remove it though if it causes panick.

Are we getting a fix for Kethis, the Hidden Hand? I love this deck but playing it feels like cheating

Still having the same problem with hanging at "Loading cards from folders". It fills to 100% and then just sits. This is on a Galaxy S9 running Android 9. I've had Forge on it for a few months now with no issues prior to this update, which is odd.Agetian wrote:UPDATE (09/07/19): Forge for Android v1.6.28.002 has been released. Try removing your version.txt and res folder in your Forge installation folder, then run forge. It should download the new assets/resource. I tested it with an old Lenovo phone, Mediatek cpu, 2GB ram, 16gb storage Android Marshmallow (Android 6.0) and it works fine, your phone is incredibly powerful than thisRobbodrum wrote:Still having the same problem with hanging at "Loading cards from folders". Thank you, Agetian and kevlahnota, for the quick response. That does make sense, and I feel better about installing the update now.
Looking forward to playing with the new cards.

I have this problem too. After the 1.6.28.001 update (friday) the game crashes too much and the display gets crazy. I have the last update (1.6.28.002) but still have this problem. I am using Android 8.1 on a Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime.Somerndguest wrote:So after the hotfix i am able to play again hooray but sometimes it Just generates an error message lets me Play some shorts time normally but then flips the Display in weird spots =/
