Is it correct Forge (desktop edition) doesn't automatically update itself but Forge for Android does?
If this is not true, then there must be a bug in Forge for desktop, because my version doesn't update automatically (while Forge for Android does)

Yes that feature was only written for android.

Why can't it be added to Forge desktop? In my opinion this a VERY useful feature, and makes Forge desktop much user-friendly.

extract in your Forge folder and run it to keep your Forge updated, a easy way!
