Crazy Screenshots

Postby KingMob » 04 Jun 2010, 16:47

Show me some of the craziest setups you've managed to get in Forge.

I want to see creatures with 665/665, 200 tokens, every single vampire, whatever it is - show me some game where you positively ruined the norm.

I'll start: I had an ally tri-color deck and managed to string together Ondu Cleric abilities with Veldakin Mastermind and continually add to my life, then basilisk collared a a couple Serra Avatars and started multiplying my life pretty fast. Of course the Serra Avatars got stronger with each multiply so...

I don't know if I still have the screenshot, but I once got my life total so high it exceeded the size of an int and went negative. This was back when lifelink stacked, so I used four Battlegrace Angels and a Serra Avatar.

I do have a picture of me about to kill the AI with some unusual creatures in quest mode: http://imgur.com/CNnI4.png

And this is the biggest counter war I've managed in Forge: Image

Well KingMob you answered my question of, "Do people really use the different skins?" Forge looks pretty good in your screenshot.

Yeah, I only use the Raven one. It just looks more natural to me.

Here's another one:

After posting the concept in the Decks forum, this was a concept to get out every single Planeswalker at once. It takes time and commitment, but once you've got the first 2 out it's generally just a matter of time. I haven't tried it against anything but a generated deck yet, we'll see if it's actually any good.

It's not so crazy... I believe that concept is a hot standard deck - Superfriends.

I looked at a couple of those. The one that really breaks the mold getting it out is Nicol Bolas. The other ones are relatively easy. This deck is diverse to the point of being impractical.

To reply to Kingmob's "big" Serra Avatar... Don't insult us by posting a picture of a dwarf!
A 1000/1000 something not only does NOT get you into the hall of fame, it doesn't even get you into the building! [-X
If you wanna post something big, make sure it is BIG! Like this!
(This actually is an old pic I had lying around from when Chameleon Colossus first showed up in Forge and I wanted to see how crazy far you could pump it. Well, crazy doesn't begin to describe it!)

Now, step aside. Or be stepped on!

Then how about a Chameleon Colossus that's becoming soooo big, it gets negative P/T?
Grote CC die er niet meer is.jpg

And just one final Chameleon Colossus, just before it died due to negative P/T (also look at life total, mana pool, Mycoloth and size of scroll-bar (due to hundreds of tokens))
Heel grote CC, volgende beurt negatief.jpg

Those Chameleon Colossus screenshots are insane and very funny. I think if you attack with a creature that has a negative attack, your opponent will gain life. (Well I did this once, a long time ago in Forge.) I forget the specific name of the card but there is one creature that has a negative attack printed on the card and Forge has it.

slowe that counterspell war is also funny. I'm still surprised when the AI occansionally counterspells me, I'm glad that Dennis got it working.

Indicatie, are those Colossus shots from a recent version of Forge? My screenshot is from an old version and back then, pumping it further caused Forge to crash due to a visual basic error.

As for your Mycoloth, I actually have made bigger ones. But the game grinds to a halt trying to make all the tokens.
As for mana, a bunch of elves, including the priests and the lands that untap elves and Gaea's Cradle and... You can have literally hundreds of mana.
There are even a few infinate green mana combo's possible in Forge now, so the size of a pumpable creature really depends more on your patience/time than on your mana.

Oh, and on tokens, Dennis probably remembers the ENORMOUS wide empty borders that showed up to the left and right in older versions of Forge when you made loads of tokens. They could cause the screen to become almost twice as wide as the actual playing area, just with empty space on each side.
This has been fixed, thankfully, and we now have token stacking, which also reduces the lenght of the play area.
It used to be possible to crash Forge by making so many tokens it had to make a second row of them below the first. This was more than the game could handle and... boom, game over.

But it still easy to overdose the game on tokens, especially with Rhys the Redeemed. He alone can do it but give him a Mycoloth and or Thelonite Hermit and Forge goes into slo-mo mode. Throw in a Essence Warden and even with the sound turned off, you can hear Forge cry MERCY!

A While ago I built a white life gain deck, with cards like Ajani Goldmane, Soul Warden, Swords to Plowshares (to use on Adjani's Avatars... instant double life), etc.
Just for the hell of it I put Storm Herd in there too... in one game with all the Glorious Anthems, Crusades and Honor of the Pure's in there I had 2x Avatars, each 1248/1248 and 1240x 9/9 White Pegasus Tokens and some other assorted creatures...

The computer had 1 life and a few Slivers.

I wanted to build up more, but the game got so slow that I waited 2 minutes for one step of the combat phase, so I just ended it.

The screenshots are made with the latest version of forge. Making the colossus bigger just causes it to die...
I've made bigger Mycoloths and Mana Pools as well, but that's quite annoying due to the slowing down of forge.....
