Duels of the Planeswalkers

Has anybody played the XBox 360 or PC game? How good is the AI? I know you can't create your own decks, so that sort of gimps (restricts) the whole experience.

I got it on the 360 last summer when it came out. They just updated the game with the last expansion pack and the AI has gotten much better. There are some issues with the shuffling and getting mana screwed/flooded, but that might just be due to the fact that there aren't any dual-lands or any real mana fixing in most of the decks.

As far as the decks are concerned, it's obvious that they're geared more towards new players. You can only add/remove the cards you unlock for each deck and most of the time you only get one of each new card. For example in the most recent expansion, Elspeth's Wings of Light deck got Baneslayer Angel, but you only get one so it doesn't make as big of a difference.

The puzzles are pretty cool, but for the most part they're pretty easy. Both campaigns can be frustrating in certain parts, especially the second duel with Sorin from the second expansion.

I just bought the PC version. The AI is relatively intelligent, though it frequently wastes removal on negligible things (like Terror on my Goblin Sky Raider instead of my Earth Elemental... ok...).

The game itself is pretty, but really clunky and slow. And I know it's not supposed to be compared to Forge, but let me just say, it doesn't. I've always liked Forge, but the fact that the official Wizards product is inferior in terms of card selection and ease of play, really pushes it over the edge.

I was curious, I'm glad Forge wins out. :D

I'm sure that Wizards went all out on the user interface, with tons of eye candy. Making a good AI opponent is just very hard.

I have it on the 360. By limiting the card pool to 20-30 cards per deck, you can really tweak things up. Each deck can come with a defined order of power for the creatures. And target more deadly permanents when you don't have a boatload of combinations to have to figure out where to disrupt.
