How to copy cardsfolder from desktop version of forge->andro

Postby Lcdeaglefan » 11 May 2019, 16:55

I tried to copy over the cardsfolder.zip file from the desktop version of forge (snapshot build) but when I opened it up no cards showed up in the deck editor. It did say that there were something like 19000 cards in it though, which was more than it had in the old android version. Is this possible to do? Thanks!

Are both cardsfolders from the same Forge release number? Your post suggests they aren't ("old android version"), and if so, that is probably the cause of your problem.

New Forge releases do not just add cards, the game engine is also changed to allow for the new functionality. Also, the script engine is reworked every now and then, and the script syntax may be very different between today's Forge and much older versions. If you have a very old Android version, it may simply fail to parse any cards at all from a much newer cardsfolder.

You cardsfolder.zip should always be from the same release as your forge executable. But as long as it is, yes, the desktop and the mobile versions use the same cardsfolder data.

Of course then there's also the possibility that the zip file got corrupted somehow in the transfer. But it's a safe bet that, if you used different version numbers, that's where your problem lies.
