New Admins
by mtgrares » 09 Jul 2010, 18:18
As you may notice the Forge forum now has more admins. DennisBergkamp, Rob Cashwalker, and , Chris H. have all shown themself to be more than capable and all three have contributed a ton of time toward Forge. (We don't usually get into too many fights around here but at least someone will be around more than me.)
I don't hand out merit badges, so this is the closest thing to it.

I've been a moderator on other forums before... I used my powers there only a handful of times, usually just moving topics to appropriate sections.

The only thing new that I have noticed is the ability to edit other peoples messages in the Forge topics.
Edit - you mean like this?

You should also be able to lock and sticky topics, move them, etc. Look for Quick-mod tools at the bottom of the page. If you don't see them let me know.

OK, it is a small menu below the large jump to menu. I see it now.

Great Power
by mtgrares » 15 Jul 2010, 18:20
Since we are all geeks here, I have to mention the Spiderman quote, "With great power comes great responsibility". Of course being an admin isn't like being a superhere so maybe a better quote would be, "With small power comes small responsibility".

-- freestorageaccount (= accurate forge notes) This is not a subliminal message. At least for the prosilver theme.
The Great Wall of Bugs. Gando, you will not be forgotten.
And a chip off the old block.

Go for it. Everything I say is open source and re-useable (use at your own risk).freestorageaccount wrote:Rares: Mind if I make that my signature?

My mate did meet an early grave
'Twas nothing left for us to save
In the peat-filled bogs of Cannelbrae.
