Throne of Eldraine fixes

Pioneer is here!

Some fancy looking UI stuff was added. Card Sleeves and Keyword Icons

Continued work on Translations

Forge now requires Java 8 (or newer). You will not be able to start the game if you are not yet running Java 8.

For some reason Oracle hates Forge and version 1.8.0_211 does bad things with Forge for unknown reasons. Downgrade to 202 for a beter time.

https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-javase8-2177648.html

We have a Discord server for hanging out with Forge devs and other Forge fans. Feel free to jump on in and say hi!

Bug fixes
As always, this release of Forge features an assortment of bug fixes and improvements based on user feedback during the previous release run.

Known issues are here: https://git.cardforge.org/core-developers/forge/issues

Feel free to report your own there if you have any.

The Forge archive includes a MANUAL.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.

The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.

Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.

Once the Forge archive has been decompressed you should then be able to launch Forge by using the included launcher. Launching Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file in the past caused a java heap space error. Forge's memory requirements have increased over time and the launchers increase the java heap space available to Forge. Currently you can launch Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file without a java heap space error but this is likely to change as we add in more sounds, icons, etc.

- The Mac OS application version -
We provide separate macOS builds of desktop and mobile (backported) Forge packaged as native Mac applications. Please check the relevant thread for details and download links.

- Online Multiplayer -
For local network play you should only need two systems running Forge. One to host and one to join and play. For remote (over the Internet) play you will need to ensure that the port used (36743 by default) is forwarded to the hosting machine.

I think implementing Seven Dwarves might actually be an interesting thing to target. Is anyone planning to take it? I'd take it myself but I'm still overwhelmed with work, this year is crazy :/ The card doesn't seem too complicated and may allow us to "de-hardcode" things like Relentless Rats. Something like an extra card property alongside ManaCost, Name, Type, etc. might be nice, e.g. DeckLimit:7 (for the Dwarves) or DeckLimit:Any (for the Rats).

Where are the card sleeves?

I can't see them anywhere? Thanks for the release - love this program - you guys do a great job maintaining and developing this.

Love the new release, the card sleeves on android at least are cool. There's one small quality of life change that would be nice, which is either switching the Heads and Tails buttons when predicting a coin flip, or switching the order of the "list" of outcomes when using Krark's Thumb (whichever is easier). Because currently, the default choice for the prediction is heads, but when choosing an outcome the top default option is tails, which means that when clicking using space/enter, or by using the left hand button on android, you choose to fail your coin flips by default.
With cards like Okaun, Eye of Chaos and Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom, and newer cards like Mirror March, coin flip decks are more common now and it would be a nice change to make them easier to use.

Are the card sleeves only on the Android version? I found them there but can't see them on the Windows version?

Hi, I also wonder where exactly - in Forge desktop - I can see these fancy sleeves.

Afaik, the rear of Magic cards is never shown anywhere in the game: if a card is visible in any place, it is face up. Am I wrong?

Yes but on the Android version you can select the card sleeves in constructed mode next to your avatar - as far as I can see on the Windows java version there is no option to select card sleeves? I am taking the card sleeves are not in the Windows version unless I am mistaken? They are kind of cool to have on Android.

(If you click on the opponents hand you can see the card sleeves / back of the card as well as facedown)

Great job as always.

There's a problem when you do a match with the AI against the AI. If you close the window, it will disappear but you will still be able to hear the match running as if it weren't closed.

I had Kasmina's Transmutation attached to the opponent's Ascendant Evincar, but the static +1/+1 and -1/-1 abilities were still active when they shouldn't have been

I did a partial implementation of Seven Dwarves. Works perfectly except its "up to 7 per deck" - seems that needs to be hardcoded. Below code currently uses the Relentless Rats K

Code: Select all
Name:Seven Dwarves
ManaCost:1 R
Types:Creature Dwarf
PT:2/2
K:A deck can have any number of cards named CARDNAME.
S:Mode$ Continuous | Affected$ Card.Self | AddPower$ X | AddToughness$ X | References$ X | Description$ CARDNAME gets +1/+1 for each other creature named Seven Dwarves you control.
SVar:X:Count$Valid Creature.namedSeven Dwarves+Other
SVar:BuffedBy:Creature.namedSeven Dwarves
SVar:PlayMain1:TRUE
DeckNeeds:Name$Seven Dwarves
Oracle:Seven Dwarves gets +1/+1 for each other creature named Seven Dwarves you control.\nA deck can have up to seven cards named Seven Dwarves.

Surrak, the Hunt Caller is not granting haste properly.

His ability triggers correctly, and when you choose a target it loses the summoning sickness symbol, and you can select it as an attacker, but forge always stops the attack and tells me it's invalid if the targeted creature is declared an attacker.

For comparison, Hanweir Battlements are granting haste correctly.

Dissolve doesn't let me scrye. The screen goes dark, its says 'waiting for opponent' and I have to hit 'escape' to get the game going again. It continues, but I missed the scry option.
