How do I play online with my friends? Do we need Hamachi?

Hey guys!

I was trying to play online with a friend and we got no success at all.
We tried both ways on the multiplayer system and nothing.
We turned off our antivirus and stuff, but still nothing.

Do we need to play with Hamachi? If so, someone could please teach me how to use it (with Forge)?

Forge multiplayer online is pretty tough to set up at this point. It is pretty slow and glitchy even on LAN, but it is possible to get it up and running with two machines on different networks.

Quickest source of good info is Discord in #networkplay... scroll a bit and pay particular attention to posts from Cpt.Kird... very good explanations.
