This is the Commit log message for r1602
- Code: Select all
* move LAF change to Swing thread
* scaling option (for new GUI it's best to leave it set)
Affected files expand all collapse all
Modify /src/res/lang/en.properties
Modify /src/src/forge/Gui_NewGame.java
Modify /src/src/forge/ImageCache.java
Modify /src/src/forge/properties/ForgePreferences.java
Modify /src/src/forge/properties/NewConstants.java
`
A new jar file by itself may not be enough.

Oh true, you might also need to include en.properties.
Exporting a JAR with that file should definitely do the trick.

I have my fingers crossed that this archive will take care of a couple of the problems. I only have a slow speed modem dial up internet connection.
Snacko's scripts will help our testers keep current with the builds on the SVN. They require Windows. Mac owners with intel based rather than PPC based microprocessors may want to set up boot camp or use one of the virtualization packages that are available.
This archive contains an updated version of the run-forge.jar file. This is from rev 1612 on the SVN. It also contains a new en.properties file and this file should be placed in the /res/lang/ directory.
Forge Fix r1612.7z.

Thanks! The Quests bug does indeed appear to be fixed. I'm still experiencing the preferences bug, however. Still, the game is playable now and I'll just keep a copy of forge.preferences to manually deal with the problem. I'd avoid playing around with the preferences altogether, but the default stark white background tends to overwhelm my visual cortex. The Raven background is much more to my liking.
The proposed graphical adventure "shandalar" mode is very exciting. I'll be sure to follow its progress.

Should be fine now, as Substance has very strict gui code checking whole gui creation had to be moved to swing thread. There should be no erros now and you should be able to use your style of choice.

Wow. Another 200+ cards to Forge and the new GUI
Great great job guys... anything seen and posted on each version's changelog is definitely worth a thank you.
I'd say that if you're a MTG fan yourself, having Forge on your computer is defintely a keeper for ages to come.

Try this version:
This archive contains an updated version of the run-forge.jar file. This is from rev 1619 on the SVN. It also contains a new en.properties file and this file should be placed in the /res/lang/ directory.
This version should allow you to choose one of the look and feel Display Options and to then restart Forge without an error exception.

Thank you Snacko.
Forge Fix r1619.7z.

My Mana pool placeholders are blank (giant black squares). How do I get them to show up?

Place an image called mana_pool.jpg in your /res/pics folder.
Here's one that Rob created, which I've been using in my version.

Huge thanks to Dennis and everybody else. The number of new cards and bug fixes are incredible. (I can only guess how many hours that you guys have spent.) I can't wait to use
Ancestral Vision and suspend.

Thanks, sometimes it seems like Forge only get criticized because people really love Magic and Forge and want the moon (everything). I won't say that Forge is the best software on Earth....well....2nd best.

p.s.
I'm not taking all of the praise (my head isn't that big), I'm just saying thanks on behalf of the guys who do the programming.

Ancestral Vision doesn't quite work yet, it will suspend and remove time counters, but when it's actually cast the draws are negated due to a hack that disallows more than one draw during the draw phase. (It seems that maybe the normal draw during a turn was looping and this was put into place to prevent that.)
At one point I had the upkeep on and Vision worked then, but it felt like not everything was working so I never submitted it. I'll get back to working on it when I have some time.
