Forge mobile pictures

Hi

I'm trying to copy card pictures downloaded using gatherer extractor to my SD card.

I use the same subfolder names as Forge for desktop and also the file names of the pictures are in the format of Forge: name.full.jpg

When I choose the card folder in Forge mobile and restart, the images are not used in the deck'builder.

Is this a bug or what am I doing wrong?

The same pictures work perfectly in Forge desktop.

thx

I found the problem.
Some sets are not stored in the subfolder with same name as the set for example LEA is stored in A folder.

Does anybody know why this choice was made for some sets not to use the set code as the folder name?

Hey :)

Guess you didn't check the link in the thread I hinted at recently?

Here: https://www.slightlymagic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=30100&p=246114#p246126

My first response there contained advice to check this out first, if you go manual:
https://www.slightlymagic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=29919#p244726

I'll quote myself then:

CptKird wrote:Each set is defined by its edition txt-file in Forge/res/editions. Open up "Limited Edition Beta.txt" for example and look at the top of its contents:

[metadata]
Code=LEB
Date=1993-10-01
Name=Limited Edition Beta
Code2=B
...
etc

Creating subfolders inside your cardPicsDir need to be named according to either Code or Code2, in this case, the subfolder needs to be named "B" because:

If both set codes differ, use Code2 (mostly for older/very old sets).
Have fun (and patience) collecting :)

and i managed to fix it at hole house juego you can refer to it

Thank :)

Hey,

if you're using latest mobile build (1.6.58-SNAPSHOT-08.10), the path for the card pic cache is as follows:

Polish_20230812_133329777.png

(path is showing above the folders list)

Everything else you'd need is covered in the "edition".txt-files, path is shown here:

Polish_20230812_133355051.png

Inside each edition file you'll find the proper folder name you have to use (it's at the top, at "Code". If there's a "Code2", use that one) and each card name which needs to be placed in front of ".full.jpg", see the example for Alpha edition:

Screenshot_20230812-123429.png

The set folder is named "A", since there's a "Code2".
At least that's how it was back in 2017-2020(?) and how Forge will name them itself when the "download missing card art" option is active.
Newest versions might accept "Code" as well(?), in case of Alpha that'd be "LEA", but you'd have to test this yourself.

In rare cases, Forge won't accept certain jpgs, then try to save the jpg file once more with a different app, writing a new file.
Maybe that "Gallery Extractor" app writes additional infos inside the file structure, which Forge isn't expecting/accepting(?)

Good luck :)
(I'm all for exploring Forge settings and configs, but the "download missing card art" option will save you a lot of time)

Downloaded Forger, but the cards have no images on them. I'm trying to get into Magic since I've never played it before.

Search in Forge preferences (options) for the one saying:

"Automatically download missing card art"

And perhaps look for the other setting which lets you choose which artwork version you prefer, e.g. only original art, only latest art version etc.
