Defending
by ryharts » 12 Aug 2010, 07:13
Hey I know there have been multiple threads in regards to AI and how its difficult to improve but one thing i noticed, that even with my limited programing knowledge seems possible is just some choices the computer should make when defending. I had a 7/7 ready to attack, and the computer had like 5 creatures whose toughness added up to about nine, this was the final attack of the game and for some reason the ai didnt try to block, even just one creature would have prevented me from ending it.

The AI tries but is obviously far from perfect. I think the AI has improved overall but the end game needs work, when the computer needs to "sacrificially block".

Yes, but did you say you were working on a forge 2.0? If so are you going to just focus on that AI?

Right now Forge 2.0 is just a myth, if I get anything working (like 20 cards) I will post it.
In reality I have some designs and some code (around 500 lines) but it doesn't do anything yet.

Yeah, this is something we'll slowly improve over time (in the current version of Forge).
