Forge: 02/13/2021 ver 1.6.38
Note: version 1.6.37 was skipped for technical reasons.
Desktop: https://releases.cardforge.org/forge/forge-gui-desktop/1.6.38/forge-gui-desktop-1.6.38.tar.bz2
Sorry for the long wait between releases. Pandemic + Technology issues caused some issues we couldn't hurdle.
Get in the discord if you aren't yet.
Lots of new cards including Kaldheim.
Mutate is not yet available in this release, but it's in testing and will be a part of the next release.
Bug fixes
As always, this release of Forge features an assortment of bug fixes and improvements based on user feedback during the previous release run.
Known issues are here: https://git.cardforge.org/core-developers/forge/issues
Feel free to report your own there if you have any.
The Forge archive includes a MANUAL.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.
The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.
Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.
Once the Forge archive has been decompressed you should then be able to launch Forge by using the included launcher. Launching Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file in the past caused a java heap space error. Forge's memory requirements have increased over time and the launchers increase the java heap space available to Forge. Currently you can launch Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file without a java heap space error but this is likely to change as we add in more sounds, icons, etc.
- The Mac OS application version -
We provide separate macOS builds of desktop and mobile (backported) Forge packaged as native Mac applications. Please check the relevant thread for details and download links.
- Online Multiplayer -
For local network play you should only need two systems running Forge. One to host and one to join and play. For remote (over the Internet) play you will need to ensure that the port used (36743 by default) is forwarded to the hosting machine.

Thanks for the update!
One question: is there a way i can change the input from double click back to single click? I seem to be accidentally skipping phases quite often

What news sets were included in this update?

Thx for the new version!
I don't know if that's a bug or not: I cast Yorion, Sky Nomad and I exile Tibalt, Cosmic Impostor with it. At the end of the turn, I can't choose which side comes into play, it is only Valki, God of Lies. Is that normal?

I believe that's how this should work. I know that the older Double-Faced Cards (like Huntmaster of the Fells) always come back as the front side of the card if they're exiled then come back. I think it works the same way with the Modal Double-Faced Cards.AStrangerIsHere wrote:Thx for the new version!

I see. So you can choose which side to play when you cast a card, but if the card comes into play by other means, it's always on the front side.Mojoface wrote:I believe that's how this should work. Edit: yeah it's in the ruling:
2/5/2021 If an effect puts a double-faced card onto the battlefield, it enters with its front face up. If that front face can’t be put onto the battlefield, it doesn’t enter the battlefield.

Great job as always to the entire team! All the hard work is much appreciated.
Just wanted to mention that there appears to be some visual bugs that are tied into cards being exiled for Foretell. What appears to happen is that some permanents don't appear tapped when they really are and vice versa. As far as I can tell the game has the correct actual state of the cards, but until something else triggers it, the program isn't "updating" the visual state like it normally does.
In an example from a game I'm playing right now, everything was going normally until Turn 2 when I paid the Foretell cost to put Alrund's Epiphany in exile. When the turn passed to the AI opponent, their lands still showed as tapped even after the untap phase took place. They were able to spend the mana to cast a creature properly, but then when the turn passed to me, it appeared that one of my lands didn't untap. I could correct it by clicking on the card, which the game added a mana to my pool, which then let me "Undo" it and untap the card. Then on the following turn, the AI attacked with a creature and it looked like it had vigilance because it didn't tap, but then when they cast another creature, it then tapped the attacking creature.
ETA: I did some more testing and it definitely appears that there are general issues with most Foretell cards when they're in the exile zone. It seems like as long as cards are in exile, the "state" of the permanents in the game is not being immediately visually processed like they normally are. So lands appear tapped when they're not, creatures appear tapped when they're not (or vice versa), and even power/toughness buffs don't show up. When something else is done, like playing a land or a creature, the permanents are usually immediately refreshed at that point.
