The Forge archive includes a MANUAL.txt file and we ask that you spend a few minutes reading this file as it contains some information that may prove useful. We do tend to update this file at times and you should quickly read this file and look for new information for each and every new release. Thank you.

The archive format used for the Forge distribution is ".tar.bz2". There are utilities for Windows, Mac OS and the various *nix's that can be used to extract/decompress these ".tar.bz2" archives. We recommend that you extract/decompress the Forge archive into a new and unused folder.

Some people use the Windows application 7zip. This utility can be found at http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. Mac users can double click on the archive and the application Archive Utility will launch and extract the archive. Mac users do not need to download a separate utility.

Once the Forge archive has been decompressed you should then be able to launch Forge by using the included launcher. Launching Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file in the past caused a java heap space error. Forge's memory requirements have increased over time and the launchers increase the java heap space available to Forge. Currently you can launch Forge by double clicking on the forge jar file without a java heap space error but this is likely to change as we add in more sounds, icons, etc.

- The Mac OS application version -
We provide separate macOS builds of desktop and mobile (backported) Forge packaged as native Mac applications. Please check the relevant thread for details and download links.


- Online Multiplayer -
For local network play you should only need two systems running Forge. One to host and one to join and play. For remote (over the Internet) play you will need to ensure that the port used (36743 by default) is forwarded to the hosting machine.

Archfiend's Vessel is not exiled when it is brought back to the battlefield from the graveyard by Call of the Death-Dweller. But it is exiled when it is cast from the graveyard, when using Lurrus of the Dream-Den for example.

My forge just..suddenly did a weird thing. I installed this version, and all I could do was hover over the cards , instead of being able to click on them to play them.

As soon as I go to click on a card in my hand to play it, all it does is enlarge the card as if to preview it. I am not able to play ANY card from my hand.

I tried uninstall, reinstall, same thing. I tried an older version. Same thing. It just...randomly started doing it today. Nothing on the PC has been modified..

Quest save data is in the right folder but the new release doesn't seem to see them. Anyone else encounter this issue?

Setting number of starting boosters (instead of color random) doesn't work at all, you don't even get it be at the number you set after clicking OK & rechecking.

Starting a quest is buggy altogether & usually I don't see saved quests unless I restart for whatever reason.

Also forge eats 1GB just loading to the main menu.

The empty quest list bug is in exclusive java8 now I tested several times.

Thee # of booster option only worked with Custom format - Funny category for some reason.

Shreds of Sanity text is bugged: see text at low-left (and/or high-right), compared to card text.

Quest mode spellshop Sell Extras no longer works & it lacks a # Owned filter entry.

Canceling a miracle card mana payment cancels the option to activate altogether, this could be the case for other payment triggers too.

marking my permanents for opponent anihilation ability & surrendering marks those cards permanently in the match deck viewer

In a 2 player game, the AI had Jötun Grunt in play. During the upkeeps where the Grunt gained its 2nd and 3rd age counters, his graveyard had 1 card, and mine had 2. He was able to pay the full cumulative upkeep cost by moving only the 2 cards in my graveyard to the bottom of my library, when he should have needed to move 4 and 6 cards, and therefore have been unable to pay.

Having the same issue when using Unearth or other reanimation spells. It was working when Archfiend's Vessel was added, but I haven't played for a few releases.
