Refusing to Import Deck in Quest mode?

It appears Forge is refusing to import cards in the quest mode deck editor unless I already have the card in my quest inventory. This looks like an intentional new feature, although there are several tutorials / guides online showing people doing just that. I have otherwise no problems importing cards, including quest decks which are in my inventory.
Is there a way to turn this off, and import whatever I want?
Alternately, is there an easy way to edit the save file directly?

editing the file is a bit risky and it may lead to corruption

It sounds like the behavior you're describing is likely tied to the quest mode's intended mechanics, where you can only use cards you’ve acquired in your inventory to maintain the progression aspect of the mode. If this is a recent change, it could indeed be an update to enforce that rule more strictly .

Ensure your deck is in the correct format. Some games require specific deck lists or file types.

You're correct — in recent versions of Forge, the Quest Mode deck editor enforces a stricter rule
