He just uploaded a version based on forge 09-12 earlier today. Give him a day or two to do todays version. I like it too. I want to drill down into the package contents and copy over my jpg card files and icons. I will move the LQ ones over.

Geez, I'm sorry to be the one Mac guy that you have to do this for, but thank you very much! Card totals are correct at 4543. Is there a reason why I seem to have this problem & are there other Mac folks experiencing the same thing?

I'm very glad to hear that the all in one OS X Binary will continue to be created. I too opened the package contents and copied my pics, quest & decks folders from one of my older installs & everything worked great. I love the icon that he used too. It's really cool to be able to have to just click on that & fire up Forge!
BTW, when it comes out , I will copy your jar file fix into it & be good to go.

I think that we only have a few Mac folks that leave messages on our Forum. We have several with older PPC MacBooks that can not upgrade to jave 6 and this has been the major concern for Mac people.

When I first modified that section of code I got the same error excxeption, but I can not remember what I did to resolve it. I can not explain it.

Oh, and we should also thank Dennis for coming up with a version that would do proper testing for valid numbers and prevent this from happening again.

Does that mean that this will have to be done for every future release?
I hope not as I don't want you to have to do this just for me.

Dennis' fix is now a permanent part of the code base and there should be no reason to redo this for every future version. All is good.


nerzahd's Mac binary is different and it will have to be rebuilt for each version. The Mac version of Eclipse includes an option to build a Mac .app bundle rather than just a plain java JAR file that can be run on different OS's.

Line breaks for Windows and Mac are different. You have may to convert the text files to Mac style line feeds, see here.

With the previous update I said Forge was on it's way to catch up to the paper version of Magic when it comes to number of cards included. Seems you guys decided to up the ante and leap forward! 400 cards! Amazing! At this rate, we will have all cards in,oh, 8 or 9 more updates.
Maybe less if you lazy gud-fer-nothings stop wasting time on such luxuries as sleep, work and family. Oh, OK. I will allow you one meal a day... if you eat quickly.
And to think that the first version of Forge I ever played had just around 220/240 cards!

Now to find the time to playtest all those new cards...

Highly impressed with the program; used it for over a year now, I think.

Since I have some programming skills (not a lot), I was wondering if you needed any help programming specific cards?

Basically, there are cards that seem like they should be able to be easily coded, since the mechanics are already coded. I assume they are not because of time constraints. I would be willing to help as a card programmer. How would I go about finding out the structure of your cards?

In the developer's section, we have a thread to help get started. You can pull a copy of the source via SVN. If your (not a lot) programming skills are in Java or C/C++. then you should have no trouble figuring out what makes the cards work. From a VB background like me, and it's a bit of a learning curve. Come from a COBOL background like Chris H... and good luck....
