Do you use card pictures? It seems that having no pictures slows down this version a little bit.

I updated the card pics right after release; do you think that it might be because some are hi-res and some are low-res? I stopped doing hi-res after awhile.

I really don't know if this is problematic. But if you try to change anything, post your results.

I had the same problem on my (allegedly) 1.6Ghz Centrino laptop once I added the HQ pics folders to my system. I then converted the HQ pics to LQ resolution with PaintShopPro. I don't have any trouble playing the game right now. I suspect the slower drive speeds in laptops might affect the searching for pictures as each picture needs to be loaded right before it needs to be painted. This beta was released with some code that slipped back into a file during an SVN merge. This code put the burden of searching for pictures into the ImageCache, the current SVN code has the picture search at the time of launching a new game instead.

Forge does not download any of the newer HQ pics for card sets from the last year or so, only HQ pics from the older card sets. The maintainer of the HQ server has not been active in our community for some time. :(

Try this. Remove the old pics from the /res/cardsfolder/ and use the "Download Card LQ Pictures" command. This should give you all of the LQ card pics but only a few of the LQ token pics.

At this point you should try playing a game and see if things have improved.

When using Venser, the Sojourner's +2 ability, you can't target Venser himself.

I think it may have already been posted, but Jhoira of the Ghitu and some other cards that interact with exiled cards are broken now. With Jhoira, when you activate her ability and click the spell you want to suspend from your hand, nothing happens.

One thing that's been bugging me for the past few versions: I can't get the pictures for the tokens made by Creakwood Liege to show up. I think I managed to get it in the last version, but it doesn't work anymore. The file for the token is named "bg_1_1_worm.jpg" Any ideas?

Adding another _ between b and g will do it.

Wow, what a difference; I just sorted by file size, and wiped the HQ versions. Re-downloaded the LQ versions, and it's MUCH faster now.

What image are you using for the worm token?

Venser can now Target himself in the SVN. Jhoira no longer calls outdated functionality that doesn't work with the new Phase structure.

I updated the code for Creakwood Liege, it now creates a token named "bg_1_1_worm.jpg". We should be releasing a new beta in a couple of days.

I did this about a month ago. I highly recommend it for everyone, regardless of what you think your super-mega-processor can do! =D>

Some problems I have run into:
when using effects that increase the number of lands you can play in a turn, the maximum seems to go back down when the effect is removed (such as using Unsummon on Azusa, Lost but Seeking) it should treat it as a new source, raising your lands/turn cap by an appropriate amount again. It currently does not.
Also, sometimes when using those effects, the next game I will not let me place my first land of the game. My theory is that the lands per turn cap thinks i have already set too many lands.

P.S. thanks for making the best version of forge yet! I love what you have done with ability factory, as it has let me make some of my favorite cards possible, Like Pernicious Deed, Raven's Crime and Tortured Existence! Great Job!

Edit: also, Life from the loam seems to require 3 targets in order to work.

I added an issue for the Additional Lands thing.

I've fixed the code that Life from the Loam (and others) use. To say [FINISH TARGETING] last in the list. If someone thinks of a more elegant solution we'll swap that in. But this should at least be functional.

I noticed that natural selection doesn't work at all, even though i own green creatures in the field.
