Great Dev Team

Forge has attracted many good coders and I just wanted to say thanks to all of them. I'm amazed at the dev team and what they have been able to do.

The team seems to work well together because they respect and help each other out. I personally think that Magic + computers is just a great combination.

The team has done a great job adding cards and fixing bugs. I don't know all of the coders personally but ever since DennisBergkamp added protection I knew that he had a passion for Magic. I also know that Rob Cashwalker has been a big influence and has pushed Forge's scripting initiative. Chris. H. has also been a big help with decks. He taught himself Java and has coded a few cards.SoulStorm wrote:Yes, I follow the SVN regularly and noticed how much work was being done to convert all the cards. I've watched a lot of open source games develop (or more often collapse) over the years, but I've never seen a team as dedicated as this one.

Hey, you started it!
Don't sell yourself short, at least put yourself on the list too.
So now you're
Screaming for the blood of the cookie monster
Evil puppet demon of obesity
Time to change the tune of his fearful ballad
C is for "Lettuce," that's good enough for me

Ha, yeah I added myself to the list.
I also feel a little unsure because the current devs have to deal with many of my design decisions.

Don't. The one thing that sets forge apart from so many other projects (including mine...) is that it works. Surely the design could be better, but that's not the point. Just look how much can be squeezed out of it!mtgrares wrote:I also feel a little unsure because the current devs have to deal with many of my design decisions.
btw, I feel a little proud to be on the list, though I didn't commit any code for quite some time. I have to admit that the "interesting" design is a reason that drove me away, but I try to help with suggestions where I think my know-how is needed.

where's the "trust me, that will work!" switch for the compiler?

Now I think of myself as more of a publicist than a coder.Rob Cashwalker wrote:rares - When you first posted, I was actually thinking of adding you to the list....
Tons has been squeezed out of Forge. For some reason I envision a big orange being squeezed.silly freak wrote:Don't.
