If you put a picture named "mana_pool.jpg" in your res/pics folder Forge will use that instead of black space. There are some nice ones floating around the forum here to choose from.
So now you're
Screaming for the blood of the cookie monster
Evil puppet demon of obesity
Time to change the tune of his fearful ballad
C is for "Lettuce," that's good enough for me

Check this thread for some examples.

The mana_pool.jpg has no purpose other than to make it nice to look at and so you know where to move your mouse when you want to see how much mana is in the pool.

And of course, the actual purpose of the Mana Pool is to store floating mana. Try tapping a land, or playing something like Dark Ritual, your Mana Pool will have mana in it, which can be used later to pay for a spell or ability (provided it's done in the same phase).

thanks!
I have noticed that if you tap mana (by mistake) in the upkeep section, you can't undo and it is gone forever
Thanks!

Yeah, that's the rule. Mana pool empties for each new phase. I've mistakenly tapped stuff myself during upkeep. Not sure if there is a good solution to prevent doing this unwantingly.garvoid wrote:thanks!
