BotArena - good AI

Postby mtgrares » 05 May 2011, 18:42

Some of you may know about BotArena but it has a good AI and more than 8,000 cards. Previously it was a private project that didn't want much attention. BatArena's forums are here on slightmagic.com. It is written in C++ and they are looking for programmers to help out.

Is this true that there is no image downloader in the program? Seems like quite a deterrent to have to go grab thousands of card images and make different folders for each set...

It's been a while since I used it, but I think it uses/used the same directory structure as MWS for card pics.

I wish the source was openly available.I'm not proficient enough with C++ to be of any help but I would love to see how they do things. The amount of differing rules and the degree of detail to which they implement them(with comparatively good AI none the less) is astounding.
So now you're
Screaming for the blood of the cookie monster
Evil puppet demon of obesity
Time to change the tune of his fearful ballad
C is for "Lettuce," that's good enough for me

The only thing I don't like about BotArena is the board layout. Forge has the best one out there with the possible exception of Magarena. Otherwise the application is great.
