My blog linking to Cardforge.org
by mtgrares » 12 Nov 2011, 19:25
I just wanted to make sure it was OK for me to be using the urls to the new version of Forge at cardforge.org because I don't mind using mediafire.com. Using a single download site is nice because you get to see how many times it is downloaded, which is always an encouraging thing to see.
(Forge is really a sophisticated computer virus that is trying to infect the world, one computer at a time.

cardforge.org has unlimited bandwidth, so it's not a big deal. I check the stats every once in a while, and the number of downloads we're getting is huge...

I thought you had unlimited bandwidth but I wasn't sure. Since it is unlimited would it be ok if I uploaded Forge with all the pictures to cardforge.org? I think it would help people upgrade easier and moving files seem confusing. (I practically live in Windows Explorer.) Obviously if you don't like the idea, no problem, it was just a thought.
Creating cardforge.org was a good idea Rob.

I'm certainly not speaking for Rob, but is it a good idea legality-wise to distribute the pictures along with Forge? Besides, Forge itself does a pretty good job of handling the pictures for new installs, and there is a good update guide in the readme.
So now you're

Evil puppet demon of obesity
Time to change the tune of his fearful ballad
C is for "Lettuce," that's good enough for me

The images are downloaded individually for a reason.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like a great idea. I doubt it would solve many difficulties any ways.

Also, consider that only new users need to download the entire pic archive....

Yeah.
I'm not sure what would really help users out. Hopefully people don't find Forge hard to install or use.
