Setting Up a Custom Cube
by tsilver33 » 08 Feb 2012, 04:14
Okay, I run a (very, very awful. :p ) cube in real life. However, I rarely get a good chance to play it. I tried to follow the steps used in the second post of the 'drafting' topic, but it seems how the cubes are saved has changed since then.
I considered posting this in that thread, but only the original and following post were about that, literally every other post on the thread was about making the drafting AI better, so much so that I almost felt like i'd be hijacking the topic. And since the information in it was outdated anyway, I felt it would be good to get some step by step instructions for those like me who would love a custom draft.
Thanks for taking a look, any help is appreciated. ^_^
Edit 2/8/12: Okay, so for those players like myself who aren't program savvy, I have found a way to incorporate a custom cube. It isn't preferable, you have to delete Skiera's Cube, but you will get your own Cube into forge. I'll break the steps down so that even I could understand them.
1. Be sure Forge isn't running before you start! Go to your Forge files, then enter /res/decks. Once there, delete the file 'SkieraCube'. Alternatively, save the cube in a location outside of your Forge files to add in later if an alternative solution is found.
2. Run Forge. Hit 'Utilities' and run the deck editor. Once there, add all of the cards in your cube to the deck using whatever method you prefer.
3. Save the deck as 'SkieraCube' without the quotation marks.
4. Your cube should now be playable. To access it, run a draft using the SkieraCube option, and your own cube should appear.
Unfortunently I don't seem to be able to customize the number of player's/number of cards in each booster. :/

Look inside of the /res/draft/ folder.
Both of the included cube files found in the /res/decks/ folder have another file located in the /res/draft/ folder.
