Re: Card AI (Improvements) Requests
This isn't a huge deal but I thought it was funny: the AI put a Canopy Cover on a Silhana Ledgewalker, achieving nothing at all unless he was hoping to hit a Reach creature with a Lure - type effect.

Both of these cards are marked as unplayable by the AI already.Hanmac wrote:AI plays Isochron Scepter without having Instant card cmc<=2 on its hand so it cant imprint a card.
then AI plays the effect but cant do anything because there is no card imprinted.
And when he has imprinted a card, he plays the effect, pays (2) but then does not play the imprinted spell. (so its again useless)
same goes for Soul Foundry without a creature on its hand ... and also there he activates the effect
IIRC, that is a very old problem where the AI doesn't seem to be able to actually choose from options in a list. It's stuck with the first/last options. It's one of the reasons the Samantha Stephens deck is the way it is. Painter's Servant is only able to pick red.Agetian wrote:I noticed a very strange thing today in the AI behavior: the AI put a creature into play that had an ability that went something like "Choose a color: this creature gains protection from the chosen color until the end of turn". The AI activated that ability and chose Green even though my deck was black/white and there wasn't a single green spell or forest on the battlefield. Maybe the AI should at least choose one of the colors that are a part of the human's deck in a case like that?...

Don't we have more than one deck with Painter's Servant in it though? Those cards should pick from the best choice if it can figure out what that is, but defaults to a certain value if it can't figure it out. So for Painters Servant that's "MostProminentKeywordInComputerDeck" but without knowing which card Agetian is talking about it's actually impossible to improve the logic, because of how this logic is integrated.timmermac wrote:IIRC, that is a very old problem where the AI doesn't seem to be able to actually choose from options in a list.
