MTGForge 01/24 (unofficial BETA) version

Yet another new version! Mostly fixes:

-- Can't make unlimited Saproling tokens anymore.

More fixes to the following bugs (copied + pasted them from the bug thread) :

-- Aven Riftwatcher has extra characters " -" between type and sub-type.
-- Loxodon Stalwart has a misspelling in the sub-type.
-- Jungle Barrier should be "Creature Plant Wall"
-- Aven Flock states "Bird Soldie" rather than "Bird Soldier"
-- Psychotrope Thallid states "Creature Funger" rather than "Creature - Fungus"
-- Akroma, Angel of Fury does not have the PTPump keyword in the cards.txt file. Yet it will still pump and the card displays: "R: Akroma, Angel of Fury gets +1/+0 until end of turn." (which means that it is missing text but isn't buggy that way.)
-- Even though Psychotrope Thallid correctly requires 1 mana to activate it's second activated ability in addition to a sacrifice it does not say so on the card text.
-- Cloudseeder is misnamed "Cloudseeker"
-- Mycologist card states: "At the beginning of your upkeep, put a spore counter on Elvish Farmer." when it should state: "At the beginning of your upkeep, put a spore counter on Mycologist."
-- Needlepeak Spider is misnamed "Needlespeak Spider"
-- Sprout Swarm should say "green Saproling token" instead of "grean Insect token"
-- Breathstealer has the incorrect pump ability (+1/+0) when it should be (+1/-1) in the text.
-- Leaf Glider should be named Leaf Gilder. (I did this with my version of cards.txt already just because it was annoying while I was sorting rarities etc.)


-- Valor has an erroneous ability instead of First Strike and instead of giving First Strike when in grave..
-- Jedit Ojanen of Efrava can block more than once in a turn.
-- Disenchant and Naturalize both destroy without regeneration.
-- Thallid Shell-Dweller is missing the keyword "Defender"
-- Synchronous Sliver does not give Vigilance though it has that text on it.

- Shield Sphere (although it won't actually get 0/-1 counters yet, I just subtract 1 from its current toughness each time it blocks)

- Glint-Eye Nephilim (although its discard ability is currently not correctly implemented, I just reused code from Wild Mongrel, which has the same problem: if used the selected card will actually just be moved into the graveyard (not discarded) : so no triggers for Megrim nor Nath of the Gilt-Leaf. )

Another (experimental) feature I've added is a modification to the canDestroy() method, since First Strike and Double Strike are implemented. Now the AI can hopefully make some decisions on attacks / blocks that actually make a bit more sense.

EDIT: Valor still states that it gives creatures Vigilance, but it should actually give First Strike. Will be fixed for the next version

Hmmm...

I examined the included cards-pictures.txt file and found the url for the Coiled Tinviper card. The Coiled Tinviper is one of the 64 new creatures that I added via the new keywords.

Dennis' new cards in the list will be added to the cards-pictures.txt file in the near future.

Still does not have the MTG Forge unique cards (Totuga; Test Destroy; Klaas, Elf Friend) or the two traditionally misspelled creatures (Cloudseeder, Leaf Gilder).

This version SHOULD have Leaf Gilder correctly spelled. The other is hard coded so if you change the name in Cards.txt it won't have the abilities it should.

Still does not have the MTG Forge unique cards (Totuga; Test Destroy; Klaas, Elf Friend) or the two traditionally misspelled creatures (Cloudseeder, Leaf Gilder).

There is a nicely done Totuga card on Rares Blog site. I saved this jpg and included it in my Forge folder. Many of us do not have the artistic talent to produce a nice jpg for the fantasy cards. I wonder who did the Totuga card?

If someone created a nice looking Test Destroy and Klaas, Elf Friend jpg we could consider including these 3 jpgs with the forge beta distribution.

And thanks for pointing out Cloudseeder and Leaf Gilder. I forgot to consider these two corrections and how it would impact the card-pictures.txt file. I will try to fix this and post a new version in the next couple of days.

I corrected the card-pictures.txt file. This is version 2.

Needlepeak Spider, Leaf Gilder and Cloudseeder are now correctly spelled and Forge should now download a jpg picture that version 01-24 can use.

This is an updated originalRarities file and contains the common.txt, uncommon.txt and rare.txt files.

I added the 21 new cards that are included in forge version 01-24.

Needlepeak Spider, Leaf Gilder and Cloudseeder are now correctly spelled.

These rarity files have not been play balanced.

There is a nicely done Tortuga card on Rares Blog site. I saved this jpg and included it in my Forge folder. Many of us do not have the artistic talent to produce a nice jpg for the fantasy cards. I wonder who did the Totuga card?

I created Tortuga after listening to some online Magic talk show about how they were going to pass out pirate Magic cards or something. I used a popular Magic Card Creator to make it, I forget the name. Obviously Toruga is too powerful but I love the idea of "tap: discard a card, draw a card" which lets you draw free cards if you have an empty hand.
