RTR Card Images
by NoctisIncendia » 07 Oct 2012, 03:50
Forge said it downloaded 300 and something new images this release, but the RTR ones don't show up in game, nor are they in the RTR folder in res/pics. Where can I get images for the RTR cards?

RtR set images aren't available yet. The downloader will pick up that the images aren't on your pc, but they're skipped because they're not yet available on Cardforge. As soon as the HQ team realease their scans of the set and I've processed them for cardforge site, we'll announce it here. For now, if you just can't wait, you can grab the gatherer images and put them in a folder named RtR in your pics folder. Just delete them when you want to download the better quality pics available through the downloader.

It usually takes extreme and the other guys about two weeks after a release to scan all the cards. Sometimes it takes a little longer though because they make sure the set is complete before release, including tips & tricks cards, tokens etc (the images they scan are the ones eventually used by magicinfo and several other sites and games). Check out the Pictures topic in the forum index if you want to follow any developments there. They'll normally mention when the scanning is all done and extreme just has to process them.
Once they release, you can either grab the HQ pics directly and stick them in your RtR folder (using full HQ pics does push up the memory usage of forge though), otherwise wait a day or two until I process them and upload to cardforge, then run the download again.

The image downloader worked fine for me yesterday, including RTR images.

I assume then that you don't use the set images. The bulk LQ images downloads directly from gatherer, whereas the set images are processed versions of the scans made by the HQ team.gos wrote:The image downloader worked fine for me yesterday, including RTR images.

I usually download both the card pictures and the set pictures from the content downloaders menu. I see now that the set pictures haven't been downloaded - I'm just seeing the "general" picture, as you say. Still, I don't see any grey rectangles, so I'm happymoomarc wrote:I assume then that you don't use the set images.
