Marvel Xmen theme Deck!

Postby The Full Monty » 16 Nov 2012, 22:04

I'm not sure where to post this (seems Forge Deck sub-forum is for adding things to the program). Anyways been playing around all afternoon making decks to import to my quest store and I came up with an X-men one. I haven't put in any lands or anything yet but wanted to share and get comments. It's all colours except black. Check it out:

[metadata]
Name=Xmen Assembled

1 Archangel|AVR - Archangel

1 Bloodfire Dwarf|APC - Cannonball
1 Borborygmos|GPT - Cyclops

1 Breezekeeper|VIS - Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat
1 Darksteel Colossus|DST - Colossus
1 Grizzled Wolverine|ICE - Wolverine
1 Jasmine Seer|UDS - Emma Frost
1 Juggernaut|3ED - Juggernaut
1 Kor Outfitter|ZEN - Forge
1 Magus of the Disk|TSP - Magneto
1 Magus of the Future|FUT - Xavier
1 Master Thief|M12 - Gambit (hard to find one close)
1 Mercurial Chemister|RTR - Cable

1 Shapeshifter|4ED - Mystique
1 Shardless Agent|PC2 - Dominoe

1 Solarion|5DN - Dazzler (hard to find)
1 Storm Entity|FUT - Storm (so many other options too)
1 Trusted Forcemage|AVR - Aurora
1 Woolly Thoctar|ALA - Beast

Let me know what you guys think (or where to move this thread to). I had warpath, pyro, angel and lockheed but I figured they just didn't gel as some of the bigger names. Gambit and Dazzler might have better options but I couldn't find any.

The Forge Decks subforum is precisely for this sort of thing! There are sticky threads for specific types of decks for actual inclusion in the program, and I've taken over a bit of the rest of the posts, but don't let that intimidate you :)

Shouldn't Cannonball be like... Orcish Cannoneers? And maybe Soldier of Fortune for Gambit

Cannonball was tough because orcs/goblins actually utilize cannons, but I went with the dwarf because he looks like Guthrie kinda, and the art also looks similiar (leaning forward ball). Definitely think cannoneers might work better though.

As for Gambit, I went with the thief because Gambit was/is a master thief from his days in the guild. The flavor also seems better suited to gambit imo. He was never a mercenary for hire as far as I know (but the card art looks more like him). I almost went with some of the clerics.

Thanks Gos, next time I post a deck I'll put it in there (not sure how to move this thread). This was just a neat theme deck I came up with while building some decks to put in the quest store for myself, kept noticing a lot of cards could represent xmen... kinda nerdy but whatever. I was trying to make this deck viable in actual gameplay, but in the end I just switched to what I thought best represented each character either in name, creature type, or flavor. Sometimes card art was a factor too.
