Have you guys considered...? Hear me out on this
by otherright » 16 Mar 2013, 20:14
I am a huge fan of forge and absolutely adore the work you guys do. Every time there is an update, I have a steady stream of flash drives from the guys I work with in which I have to do the updates for the group.
We were talking about this week's release the other day and the topic came up; "With only 800 cards left to do, why doesn't Forge branch into a new game?" So we were talking, which game would they do? World of Warcraft TCG.
Its so similar to Magic that you guys probably already have almost all of the cards already written, of course with some minor tweaks.
As far as major game play goes, there would be a few changes. For instance,
instead of attacking a player, you are attacking a hero card.
Damage stays on the creatures until they are healed or dead.
There are several others, but for the most part its incredibly similar. Creatures with ferocity are identical to haste. Abilities like Delve are really Scry 2. Creatures with Assault gain +X/+0, where X is the number after Assault.
I think it would be a great addition to Forge and very easy project for you guys to expand into other games with, if that were the direction you'd like to take. I personally can code cards for you, but the changes to Forge's main coding is beyond my reach.
Anyway, just an idea. If you were interested in expanding, or doing some alteration to Forge so myself or someone else could code the cards, I could give you a run down of everything that's different and what minor tweaks would have to be made to a version of Forge for WoW TCG.
There is a quick start guide here, if you are interested in checking out the possibility.

I doubt that will happen. A few years ago, someone asked what we'd do once all the cards were scripted and I said fix all the bugs. We still have plenty of work ahead of us, and that doesn't include adding all the features that aren't available, are aren't quite there.
