It is possible, but I have to write a tool to parse magiccards.info.

How about your plans on writing a tool to get and merge informations from MagicCards.info?

In the meantime I would like to help you with the german data for Tempest, Stronghold and maybe Exodus. Would you be so kind and give me an excel-file that I can base on?

Not sure if it is worth it.

Lets start from Tempest.

Well, I've done so far...
But as I don't have all the cards, I can't be sure that all texts are right now... especially for circa 8 cards I found different text... what should I do with thies?

How should I sent the result to you?

EDIT: I just noticed that these sets were done by foXen -- No problem, I nabbed them with a script anyway! I'll do the next sets once these are done.

@foXen - Try searching this site for the card names in german - they have LQ watermarked images of at least the cards below, and I'm assuming the rest too. This is a way to verrify texts.

=====

I've compiled the German Stronghold and Exodous data from magiccards.info into XML files. Mana symbols and tap symbols are not wrapped in {brackets} however. If somebody will go through and fix this, I will also upload Urza's Saga, Mercadian Masques, Nemesis, and Prophecy in German.

Note that I added 5 cards manually - Please double check:

=====

Zealots en-Dal

Fanatiker en-Dal

=====

Dauthi Cutthroat

Mordender Dauthi

=====

Elven Palisade

Elfische Pallisade

Verzauberung

=====

Pygmy Troll

Zwergtroll

{G}: Regeneration

„Wen nennst Du hier 'Winzling'?“

=====

Soul Warden

=====

Kor Chant

Gesang der Kor

Spontanzauber

I converted the xml file to an excell 95' file for greater accessibility. If somebody will update this file I'll convert and upload the other sets too.

I've noticed one more issue with the MagicCards.info text:

1) Mana and tap symbols aren't wrapped in {curly brackets}
2) Some reminder text (i.e Buyback, Shadow, etc.) isn't typed out yet.

Anybody to fix it??? I will take care of the rest and will add data to the MA.

Please, use something what can properly support UTF-8 or UTF-16. I can open your xmls without problems, but I have charset problems with xls attached.

I'm using the Open Office Suite to do this. I've attached an .ods (open document spreadsheet), which should be pretty universal/accessible today. Is this read in properly?

Yes, but someone should correct mana symbols.

well the mana & tap symbols are no problem at all.
just some proper search & replace (strg-f) with o.o.
but dont take the magiccards data to serious - for some sets.
many typos in all areas, besides missing data,
incomplete rule & flavor text, .. and so on - for this particular set.
otherwise i had subbmited the missing stuff months ago.
however, the spreadsheet cuts off the current data.
see i.e. "Spike Weaver".
additionally i discovered one german shop with (watermarked) scans of the german exodus cards. i'll try to grab (and sort) 'em all.

ck

@zeka711

I know you're not to fond of the magiccards.info text, but if you want to use them as a starting point just let me know which sets to nab.

@zeka711
@Goblin Hero

I don't know if you've been following our development of Snacko's HQ card generator, but it now supports levelers, transformers, and miracle cards. The power of this utility is it's ability to generate cards in non-English languages. While we currently update the English card database using GH's Master Base, our foreign language data is limited to what we nab using Gather Downloader / Gather Extractor. As you know, Gatherer's foreign language database is neither complete nor accurate with regard to earlier sets. We'd love to incorporate your text / database with the generator. Is there a way to export this data from Magic Album or is there a plain text version of it avaliable? Or if you have the sets not provided on gatherer each in csv/spreadsheet format I could adapt those to the generator.

Thanks!

Here's French Revised (Limited), let me know if it needs to be in a different format or anything like that.
