Promotional Masterbase W/Promos

Hey guys, I just finished working on a new Master Base. What makes my version special is that it includes all the promo version of cards as well.

Right now, I'm currently trying to find a way to add both the Premium Decks: Slivers and Duel Decks: Garruk vs Lilliana box sets to the Master Base with having it interfere with the card filter. I will hopefully have these, among other things, in the next update.

I support the idea of having an up-to-date promo database. I personally don't use MWS but Nate's Deck Builder - but the .mwBase is usefull to me.

Anyone with masterbase editing knowledge could teach me the easiest way to proceed (software used / typo & character encoding selected / way of automated gatherer browsing...) ?

I use my own personal masterbase that I append each time a new set is released and in it i have condensed all the promos into one set that right now has 539 different promos. I was only able to do this by creating a txt spoiler of all these cards first and matching the order to my pics listing and then deleted all the small separate promo sets and added the one promo set using the code PRM. MWS though has a real problem with this kind of thing though screwing up your sets.dat file so I had to download Brainwad's base editor and manually edit the file and make sure i save a backup because each time u add a new set it will completely ruin the sets.dat file again. Well anyway, if this is the same thing you are trying to do I hope it helps.

@Plaguebearer: Thanks for the hint ! But I'd rather not use MWS (and deal with subsequent bugs)... Is there a way for you to share your promo txt spoiler ? That may helps a lot

@Sebas: Maybe you should also track your change on the masterbase as a txt spoiler to avoid overwriting problems as masterbase get updated for new sets. This backup could also be usefull for the MWS-alternatives users !

Hi everyone!

I'm working to the update of the masterbase with promos, too; at the moment I have added

- FNM till January (Tidehollow Sculler)
- REW till last mail (Fallout+Infest)
- JGC till Worlds (all Onslaught fetchlands)
- GTW till Zendikar (Kor Duelist and Vampire Nighthawk)
- Release and Prerelease till Worldwake (Comet Storm and Joraga Warcaller)

I was adding the four promos from the Grand Prix and the four from the Pro Tour, but even if I added the cards, I am not able to edit the sets.dat file to make the two new editions recognizable by the database. May anyone explain the procedure to do this? I think this would become a new starting-point masterbase to update by the release of Worldwake...
