hi,
Finally, we have reached the limits of our current database.
This time it worked by simply deleting the alpha cards,
In the future, the filters for each expansion will no longer work.
It is very scary to operate in its current state and I don't know when we will no longer be able to update it.
I think what is causing the bug is the capacity of the database and too many sets in sets.dat, but even if we try to delete the data from the database later, it will remain internally and we will have to rebuild from scratch to fix the problem.
If we were to rebuild, we would eliminate the re-recorded sets and rebuild the Basic Set and the Leaders as a single set.
Also, if playing forever, it would be possible to solve the problem by narrowing down the information to only card name, mana cost, power toughness, and card type, assuming that the images are referenced.

masterbase -woe.
alpha set delete.
The filter function will not work next time.
You will still be able to search for card names.

Hi nyanko1. Do you know if this restriction also affects the txt patches? I haven't updated my masterbase in a very long time, all I do is add each expansion via a txt patch. I haven't come across any issue so far.nyanko1 wrote:hi,

who patch.
I'm sure txt will have the same problem, but if it works fine, great.
I am already having problems with my master base.
However, if the filter function is not used, there is no problem in operation.

Hi Folks!
First of all - many thanks to all the people who have kept MWS running for so long. It's highly appreciated!
Concerning the problem of finite capacity that threatens program stability I had a thought. Dunno if it's naive / stupid / far from managable, cause I never have set up a masterbase myself.
Would it be possible to build masterbases for just certain formats, say only Modern or Pioneer? Sure that would not work for everybody but I for instance delete tons of sets every time as the first thing when I install a new masterbase into the program. I don`t need any Gift- or Commander-editions or all the Duel-Decks. I feel they just bloat up the library, making me look longer for the cards I build with.
I have no idea how long setting up a Modern-masterbase would take, but I would gladly install a stable version that has not all the cards in MTG's history.
Let me now what you think!
