Export MasterBase to csv or anything else

Postby SUPER_X » 10 Mar 2009, 19:16

Hi, I'm trying to use this export feature from MWS so I can have the MasterBase in a readable format like csv or even text file, and I'm running into an "insufficient memory" error. Wich is probably some limit windows set up for the process and I can't figure out, since I have plenty of free memory.

I'd appreciate if someone has either a solution for this or can make an export to csv from the last MasterBase and upload it somewhere.

Also I think I remember being able to open the base directly from the MwBase before with access or some program, but I can't seem to do it now.

There are ways to do that, but I don't know them, so until someone tells you what they are, take a look at this base editor:

MWS is buggged and you can't really export anything viable (see countless threads about it at magi soft forums)
You can export to xml or csv via cdsExplorer, as MasterBase and Sets files are a standard Delphi TClientDataset databases. You need two files cdsExplorer.exe and midas.dll both easily found via google.
Rename Master.mwBase to: Master.cds
Run cdsExplorer.exe, click new, click open and choose the Master.cds.
Right click a cell, select all, right click a cell, save selection as, save as CSV.

Thank you very much!

midas.dll needs to be in the same place as cdsexplorer.exe, just in case anyone cares...
