Arcane 0.16

This is the last version to be released. Nate said:
http://www.mediafire.com/?xbqn9txnzl2This demo also includes the source to arcane, the client, server, deckbuilder, and plugins. I won't be continuing development, but this code is GPL, so someone else who is willing to take the legal risk of using WotC's property can do what they want with it (except charge for use of the software).

The link is dead. Is there somewhere we can put Arcane so it stays available? IMO it is a useful project, I'd hate to see it unavailable to someone who might be able to make use of it.

You can always post it on googlecode, they don't prune their projects / files too often.

Since Nate has finally registered, I was able to give him ownership of this topic.

Hey Snacko, were you able to use this? Was the link and contents OK? Or are you still updating the older code?

Everything was ok, and the next deckbuilder will be based on this.

When does the MTG gameplay copyright expire? 2015? Maybe I'll be back!

It's only patented in US, it's safe in EU/rest of the world as long as you don't use copyrighted material.
And yes 2015 is the expiration date for the US patent.

OMG, in six years American non-MTG gamers can legally turn their cards sideways without infringing a patent.

I'm back, as promised, if late! I won't resurrect Arcane as a platform for rules enforced play, but I'll try resurrecting the deck builder and rules viewer (see that thread).Nate wrote:When does the MTG gameplay copyright expire? 2015? Maybe I'll be back!
