Java code reuse

Postby Nate » 05 Jul 2010, 12:56

Cool that MagicWars is Java-based. :) You might be able to use something from Arcane:

Specifically, in /source/client/src/arcane/client/ui/util/ the PlayArea class is pretty cool. It lays out permanents like you would in Real Life, based on how much space is available. I remember spending a bit of time getting it pretty fancy. :)

Also, I would suggest KryoNet for networking (guess who is the author :p)...

Thanks, Nate :)
Actually we know about KryoNet project and already planned to reimplement all network stuff in future release using it. But I didn't know that you are the author =) surprise :D
But more interesting about PlayArea and Arcane: your code is already in magicwars svn for month or so *lol* nearest release that probably will come out at the end of July will have new card layout with auto sorting and resizing and basic animation effects based on arcane 0.16 source you gave me a year ago or so. no need to say that open source is greatest human invention:)
and thanks for your efforts and sharing with us all that you've done!
