Did you know that Duels of the Planeswalkers would appear on PC this summer?
Though it simplifies the rules, it uses mini-max algorithm so AI is very good, and graphics... it's amazing. Plus playing multiplayer via internet. No doubt it will be competitive to current programs with ai and\or rules enforcement we have here (would be nice if developers put the Duels source code to google.code svn and create forum here ). And would it change the world, dunno.
Anyway it makes my mouth water can't wait til summer

Depending how hard it is to reverse engineer, people 'could' have code their own cards into the framework .
The only problem for some people might be that it's a bit twitchy like couple seconds to decide to counterspell. Sometimes it's hard for a person to evaluate a good strategy in a short time.
Even despite the above I'm really looking into it as it looks like a fun arcade version of Magic.
