Yo Yo deck - Quest deck ?
by Chris H. » 20 Mar 2009, 00:34
Yo Yo deck - I hope that this will be a quest candidate
The idea is to put creatures into the graveyard and then bounce them back out again. We have all four of the Penumbra creatures and we have the Caller of the Claw hoping that it will occasionally be played to great effect.
The Eternal Witness and the Gravedigger can Yo Yo the critters back out again. The Nevinyrral's Disk and the Pestilence can put them there in the first place. The Life Burst should help the computer gain some life.
The Enlightened Tutor unfortunately can cause the computer's Library to be shuffled and negate the Land Stacking. The Enlightened Tutor should go after the 4 cost artifacts or 4 cost enchantments before they go for a Darksteel Ingot of a mox. (I think ???)
The Castle can help keep the computer's critters alive.
I have tested the deck. It does not perform up to high levels but it may scare a few hapless souls that chose to play against the Yo Yo.

3x Gravedigger
2x Guiltfeeder
3x Penumbra Bobcat
3x Penumbra Kavu

Nice deck but I would keep it 2 colors.
Demonic Tutor replaces Enlightened Tutor (cheaper mana, can fetch any card)
Gaea's Anthem replaces Castle (the effect is not limited to untapped and you get extra damage)
Highway Robber replaces Life Burst (slightly less lifegain, traded for a creature that fits the yo-yo theme better and damages opponent as it comes into play)
Then just swap out the white mana lands and you have a thighter deck.
This uses just black and green, making it mean!

My human variant of the deck closely matches what you have above. Great minds thinking alike and all that.Mr.Chaos wrote:Nice deck but I would keep it 2 colors.

The deck variant above is meant for the computer AI in the quest mode. I made a few design decisions in an effort to limit the decks effectiveness so that it might qualify as a lower level opponent. As they say, the best laid plans of mice and men ...
