This deck is all about the keyword "Persist" and all aspects regarding it.

The best way to play this deck is to use your first creatures as blockers, as the persist ability will bring them back leaving your opponent defenseless while you have still have a force to be reckoned with.

Things start to be interesting once you get the Heartmender card out. This will ensure that all you Persist creatures will come back each and everytime they are dealt lethal damage.

Then to finish it off, use Wrath of God + Persist + Heartmender for the win. No monsters for your opponents while you still got lots of them is nasty.

Other Deck Combos:
Skullmulcher (w/ Devour) + Persist = Your Skullmulcher will easily become a powerhouse, and in return you don't lose any creatures at all.

Kitchen Finks + Heartmender = A very cheap way to gain 2 life over and over again.

Nice idea. My first thought was, where is the Mycoloth?
Devour your persisting critters, get a big mycoloth and on top of that, get a bunch of tokens at the start of every turn.
I will try the deck as is, then with the Mycoloth, see what I like better.
Thanks for the idea.

18 mana sources out of a 60 card deck??? doesn't the game just screw you 90% of the time and then flood you the rest? (less than 30% is really not recommended and 40% is supposedly the standard amount when dealing with any kind of mana curve over 2.)

have a look at my deck which I posted a bit ago that has a similar idea but is more mana fixed.

The only problem is when adding non-persist monsters to the deck, it ruins the Armageddon + Persist + Heartmender combo as they do not return back from the grave.

Well that depends on your playing style, so please feel free to make the necessary modifications. Surely there are lots of variations to this theme.

As for the mana, I've never had so much problems. I've got two moxes + 18 land which gives you 20 lands. Maybe adding some basic lands + Kodama's Reach would help. But I do agree that it kinda gets sucky at times due to having consecutive bad draws which means a lost cause early.

Maybe next time I'll try making a 3-color Persist deck, something that is more stable on the long run.

Thanks for the comments guys!

You mean 2 moxes + 16 lands which is considerably less. :)

Re: Armageddon I assume you mean wrath. Also what Reaches? I see none in the list here.

My bad.

I can't add Reaches because primarily, you'll need to add basic land cards first. Kodama only works on basic land cards, and in the deck there is none.

I'll try posting a better version of this soon to address the deck's weak points.
