B/G/W Treefolk Deck & B/G Powerup Deck

Postby apthaven » 05 Jul 2009, 09:30

Black/Green/White Treefolk

60 Total Cards

24 Creatures
-------------
2x Chameleon Colossus
1x Changeling Hero
2x Changeling Sentinel
3x Cloudcrown Oak
1x Dauntless Dourbark
2x Doran, the Siege Tower
1x Ebony Treefolk
1x Foxfire Oak
1x Heartwood Treefolk
1x Indomitable Ancients
4x Leaf-Crowned Elder
1x Old Ghastbark
3x Treefolk Harbinger
1x Woodland Changeling

12 Spells
----------
1x Castle
1x Darksteel Ingot
1x Disenchant
2x Glorious Anthem
1x Kodama's Reach
1x Naturalize
2x Swords to Plowshares
1x Wildsize
2x Worldly Tutor

24 Land
--------
6x Forest
4x Plains
4x Savannah
2x Swamp
4x Temple Garden
4x Terramorphic Expanse

This deck abuses the Treefolk theme and involves swarming your opponent fast with Treefolk creatures.

You'd first want to bring out a Treefolk Harbinger to bring out forests for mana, and later on the Leaf-Crowned Elder.

Having the Leaf-Crowned Elder allows you a free Treefolk or Shapeshifter card to be played instantly per turn given the right draw and combined with the Worldly Tutor or Harbinger you can easily get the cards you want fast.

Cards you'd want to come out fast are Chameleon Colossus, Doran the Siege Tower and the cheap card Indomitable Ancients which easily becomes a 10/10 treefolk due to Doran's ability.

Then the rest is pretty much up to you.

To add insult to injury bring out the powerful, Dauntless Dourbark. And with your hordes of Treefolk out, it easily becomes your most powerful creature.

Powerup and Beatdown

60 Total Cards

23 Creatures
-------------
2x Brawn
3x Briarhorn
3x Sengir Bats
2x Sengir Vampire
2x Slith Bloodletter
2x Slith Predator
2x Sorceress Queen
2x Spiritmonger
1x Stalker Hag
2x Sylvan Basilisk
2x Thornweald Archer

17 Spells
----------
1x Aggressive Urge
2x Echoing Decay
1x Epic Proportions
1x Funeral Charm
2x Giant Growth
2x Maelstrom Pulse
1x Mox Emerald
1x Mox Jet
1x Primal Boost
1x Scare Tactics
1x Wildsize
1x Worldly Tutor
2x Wrap in Vigor

20 Land
--------
4x Bayou
4x Forest
4x Overgrown Tomb
4x Savage Lands
3x Swamp
1x Treetop Village

This Black and Green deck uses a simple strategy, which involves crushing anything that stands in your way.

Creatures such as your Sengir Bats and Sengir Vampires need not to be afraid of being blocked as your powerup instants (such as Giant Growth will turn the tide instantly into your favor.)

You'll also want the Sorceress Queen to get rid of any tough nasties while you attack.

Powerup your Slith Bloodletter and Slith Predator and attack relentlessly. In no time, they'll mow down the competition.

And lastly, the trump of this deck is your Spiritmonger. It's regeneration abilities combined with its ability to grow stronger will definitely finish the game fast.

In most cases, this deck wants to win fast. That's why control decks would definitely have an edge against this one.

Have fun!

I am not saying don't post these but keep in mind we have alot of decks on here so you may be just repeating earlier decks. The second deck is a little crazy with all those two ofs. Mike Flores, arguably one of the best creative deck builders in our game has said that 2 ofs are to be avoided. I don't always agree with this but in this case you only run 1 tutor and its not even demonic tutor. My suggestion is play with the deck some more, tune it, take out some of the 2 ofs that don't work and replace them with 2 ofs that do so that you end up with 4 ofs. or maybe 3 ofs in some cases. The best test for any deck in forge is to let the AI take it for a spin. If you lose to it consistently no matter what deck you play its probably tuned to max efficiency.

Hmm... do you know of any EXTREMELY good AI decks? Some of the test decks I make cheat a bunch (e.g. 10 of a test artifact that looks like this:
Code: Select all
TEST Mox Array
5
Artifact
no text
tap: add WUBRG
Untap:5
, or like this:
Code: Select all
TEST Mined Slingshot
0
Artifact Creature Construct
Sacrifice Mined Slingshot: destroy target creature blocking or being blocked by it. Draw a card.
1/1
First Strike
Reach
... with the latter's ability being coded to work succesfully),so I naturally want something fun to kill during testing :P.

There are some strong AI decks but Chris is better informed on that subject than I think. Too bad our discussion threads disappeared or I could point you to the ones I know of. Off hand it is going to be a pain to find them.

Why were they unstickied? I have no clue. Ask the one who did it. As far as I know neither chris nor I requested it be unstickied and we were the Thread Owners. :/

Who did? Rares? Can't you just ask whoever(or someone else with the power to do so) to re-sticky them, or at least give an explanation?

Visit the google site where rares posts his forge app and other files. Download the 100 deck archive and import the decks named "AI-"{deck name}

These decks are designed for the computer and should at least give you a challenge. They may not be able to defeat your mutant decks with their mutant cards.

Did already, thanks, and so far my non-mutant bouncing deck (i.e. "Bouncing Artifacts") seems to handle any of them easily, letting AI only have a couple lands out at at time, and basically black-vising to death.

Clearly your definition of "Mutant" is different from Chris's. I believe what Chris was referring to is the fact that Black Vise is incredibly broken and even more so against the AI. Not surprising it can't win against them.

Give the computer the "AI-Black-Vise" deck and play your deck against it. Make sure that you have enabled the computer's land stacking flag.

Let the battle between the vises begin.

Actually I think we were both referring to the two test cards posted above :P. Anyways, I have tried using the bounce deck without black vise, it still works fine as you can usually get rid of opponent mana, then creatures, then stop tapping your juggernauts for tradewind riders and use them to attack :P.
