Green Progenitus Deck

Postby apthaven » 24 Mar 2010, 17:53

60 Total Cards

20 Creatures
-------------
4x Elvish Piper
4x Eternal Witness
4x Progenitus
4x Vine Trellis
4x Wall of Blossoms

17 Spells
----------
4x Defense of the Heart
4x Harmonize
1x Mox Emerald
4x Respite
4x Survival of the Fittest

23 Land
--------
19x Forest
4x Gargoyle Castle

Get Progenitus out and win. No need for 5-color decks when all you need are simple cards like Elvish Piper, Defense of the Heart and Survival of the Fittest.

You'll run problems into very fast decks though, but if you can play carefully, you can stall long enough to bring the monstrous hydra out and stomp your way to victory.

i d like to know what are the Eternal Witness suposed to do in this deck xD
Progenitus wont go to de graveyard.
I think wall blossoms is too something you dont need and u can replace easily by a steel wallhttp://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/magic_single_card.asp?cn=Steel%20Wall
Defense of the heart is an unneeded thing and very expensive if you try to build the deck buying cards. You alllready have four evlish pipers and if you think it´s necessary, you may do mulligan till u get at least one, and if u dont, you allready have armonice, but i think that if i create a deck like this, i ll buy four xD
imagnie your oponent owning you whith some fucking 1/1 criatures you cant just block all with your walls, and you pick defense of the heart.
I think i will fall from the chair xD.
no coments about the using of FOUR progenitus lol... i know its a game and u have a black lotus (or 30 black lotus) if u wish to, but for creating a deck u need to be realist.
i think u used mox emerald cos u think it s funny to use a xpensive card.
Respite is a good idea for still alive till proge arrives, but you could try too with some foghttp://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/magic_single_card.asp?cn=Fog&sn=Magic%202010
When i saw the price of Survival of the Fittest i just had to facepalm...
what ll u do with this? look 4 elvish piper? look 4 progenitus?
u dont need so expensive cards for things like that.
I must say Gargoyle Castle is a good idea cause u will maybe need some shields unespected by your enemy, but i think its really secundary having steel walls and vine trellis and it ll be perfect if u have sthg like aether web for make them block flying criaures.
At all, if i buy a deck like this one ( i ll coz i have progenitus^^) it ll be like that:
20 Criatures. Maybe you d like to use 4 fierce empath. if u do, there ll be 21 criatures (hope nobody needs this)
4x Elvish piper
4x Llanowar elves
4x Vine Trellis
4x Stell Wall
3x Fierce Empath (i know its not ingame but i think its a needed card)
1x Progenitus
20 Spells
4x Aether Web
¿4x Defrense Of The Heart?
4x Harmonize
4x respite
¿4x fog?(maybe too many enemy stoppers. 13.3% is a very high average of getting one in each drawing)
20 lands
16xForest(ll u need more with llanowars and the mana-giver wall? if u do, just add forests)
4xGargoyle Castle

And thats all :)
the 4king coment take like an hour xDDD

Whoa, I disagree on the Steel Wall, that card is infinitely worse than Wall of Blossoms.
4x Progenitus is probably overkill though...

Steel Wall is worse, but you dont need the card drawing of Wall of Blossoms. Steel Wall is cheaper(mana cost) because you it. It depends of what you prefer:
-Being able to convoque a 0/4 in your first turn
-Being able to convoque a 0/4 in your second turn and draw a card.
Maybe it ll be better if you pick 2 of each.
looking 4 cards i think that its able to be aded a Khalni Hydra

I'd say about 99,998% of the time I'd rather draw a card. The other 0,002% account for double Blazing Shoal + Myojin of Infinite Rage and Raging Goblin from the opponent.

Maybe cutting some Progenitus and playing something to give the opponent the creatures to trigger Defense of the Heart? Maybe Hunted Troll ; I don't know about possible solutions in Forge.

Sure, making it multicolor, adding stuff like Academy Rector and making this broken would be sweet in my opinion, but I like the idea of actually trying to keep this monogreen.

i think that the the Hunted Troll may be a great idea but i think too that instead you re figting a red instant´s deck, you wont need it, so if someone ll use this deck, the troll shoud be in your sideboard.
Please keep saying ideas. I have tried the deck and it rules :D
just defeated my friend´s kor deck

Yeah true, most decks in Forge already play out enough creatures. :) Specially when you play walls and such.

Living Wish would be good in a deck like this. Would grab Hunted Troll, Progenitus, Piper, Witness, a wall.. anything you needed. Maybe we don't have sideboards yet, but Living Wish could grab any card you actually own (any card from the coded cards list in a regular match, and cards you own in Quest Mode). And it's green! :supz:

You might want to thrown in some more creatures for when you end up with your Elvish Piper but no Progenitus, or vise versa.

Try this decklist:

60 Total Cards

34 Creatures
-------------
4x Borderland Ranger
4x Child of Alara
2x Darksteel Colossus
4x Elvish Piper
4x Godsire
4x Iona, Shield of Emeria
4x Llanowar Elves
4x Meglonoth
2x Progenitus
2x Rampaging Baloths

4 Spells
----------
4x Fog

22 Land
--------
16x Forest
3x Mountain
3x Plains
---
Tiger got to hunt, bird got to fly; Man got to sit and wonder 'why, why, why?' Tiger got to sleep, bird got to land; Man got to tell himself he understand.
