Gos, can your database generate a list of the most popular cards missing? Like the top 25 cards missing from every single deck you monitor and how many decks that card appears in? I'm mostly just curious, but that would be an interesting list.

Deck #2: Greater Genju of the Good (G^3) by NosferatuStuff depends on the Birds of Paradise avatar for access to green mana. It can be made playable by substituting Forests for some of the Mountains.
The Vanguard avatars Birds of Paradise Avatar and Nekrataal, are finally available with the introduction of Vanguard in Forge 1.3.2 (the avatars have to be selected manually though, not inserted into the deck)

I'm very excited about this development :)

I will shortly mark all the decks that were built to be used with Vanguard, and specify their respective Avatars.

I would prefer the Avatar to be specified in the .dck file, although I can imagine the design decisions that led to the opposite conclusion. Might I humbly ask that a default Avatar could be specified in the .dck file? I'll ask in the Developer's Corner.

I know that, for Commander, the General will be included in the .dck file and I hope the same decision will be made for Planes and Schemes.

All 4 of the decks from today's Perilous Research are forgeable:

6.12.2012: DaDawson's Five-Color Control; Saitology's Jund Midrange; Sylenced1's Mono-Red; ihugiu's Nightshade Staticasters

There was 1 more deck posted in the article, but it was identical to Tyler Lytle's BR Aggro from last week's Top Decks.

There certainly was. I don't know how I screwed it up the first time, but I can certainly see an attachment now! :)

Hey gos, just a heads-up; the following deck sections can be used in your files for the next version:
Deck sections | Open
[metadata]
Name=TestSchemes
[main]
2 Austere Command|COM
4 Bottle Gnomes|TMP
1 Brainspoil|RAV
2 Demonic Tutor|3ED
4 Exquisite Blood|AVR
...etc
[sideboard]
3 Leechridden Swamp|SHM
4 Marsh Flats|ZEN
4 Doom Blade
4 Lightning Bolt
[commander]
1 Mayael the Anima
[avatar]
1 Gix
[planes]
3 Academy at Tolaria West|HOP
...etc
[schemes]
4 I Call on the Ancient Magics|ARC
4 Every Hope Shall Vanish|ARC
4 Embrace My Diabolical Vision|ARC

Sideboard, Commander and Planechase aren't implemented yet, but will just be ignored for now so, if you want, you can insert that data already. In fact, all deck sections can be populated regardless of the format, so the above deck would use just the main deck in standard constructed matches, while in Archenemy (schemes will be available in the next beta) and Vanguard, there is an option at the game setup to use the default scheme deck/avatar if available, so would just use the relevant section of the deck (scheme decks can also be created separately by leaving the other sections blank and would be put into a folder named 'scheme' in your decks folder). This all means that you don't have to generate separate decks for each format if the main and sideboard are the same.

Edit: Secretly I'm also hoping that we'll allow multi-variant games at some point so you could play Archenemy with Vanguard avatars making life more interesting while you battle across multiple planes from Planechase
