Bouncy DrawGo

Postby GandoTheBard » 28 Feb 2009, 01:23

Anyone remember that boring deck that used to win alot of tournaments called "Draw Go"?

Here is a Mtg Forge version:

60 Total Cards

21 Creatures
-------------
3x Arcanis the Omnipotent
4x Man-o'-War
4x Mulldrifter
2x Primoc Escapee
4x Solemn Simulacrum
4x Thieving Magpie

21 Spells
----------
1x Amnesia
1x Ancestral Recall
4x Boomerang
1x Mox Sapphire
4x Psionic Blast
2x Sensei's Divining Top
4x Sky Diamond
4x Standstill

18 Land
--------
18x Island

This isn't an AI deck for the simple expediency that the AI can't handle Standstill nor Divining Top. The main idea here is that you win by drawing so many cards that you always have the right cards in hand or on the table. It has a nice rhythm and I almost wish the AI could handle it.

For those who are curious I added Primoc Escapee because of the cycling and big guy at the end of the game potential. Could easily also be Air Elementals, since the deck draws very nicely usually.

Potential additions to this deck might be Fact or Fiction and Capsize. Both of which lend themselves to this style of play.

I've been thinking about implementing Fact or Fiction (because it's such a powerful card). But it's sort of tricky to program, especially the AI part.
Capsize is easy, I'll definitely make that one sometime.
