Relentless Rats Deck - Win by Turn 5 or 6
by Marty » 02 Mar 2009, 15:44
Hello All,
I'm new here and I love MTG Forge. Great work to everyone who contributed. I'm an old school player from the old Unlimited and Revised days. I love building decks - and here was one that I thought turned out pretty well. I can usually beat the AI by turn 5 or 6. Anyone got a deck they can recommend as a challenge to it?
Thanks.
Marty

Decks with Echoing Truth in it
No seriously, there's some really strong decks here Gando and Chris have created, download those, they should give your decks a nice challenge.

If you are looking for a challenging deck to assign to the computer to test your deck, try this deck:

There are a number of AI decks being created at this time, when you tire of playing against the deck above, try some of the other decks. They are a lot of fun.

I wasn't too concerned by Echoing Truth because there were so many Relentless Rats that it would be easy enough to restock.
I really like that AI deck you recommended. I had never seen most of those cards, or if I had, its been forever and I've forgotten them. I saw that once AI played the Magnus of the Moat, or the Moat, I was done. I'm guessing that I'm going to have figure a way around it.
Thanks.

Heya Marty welcome to Forge.
Your deck might fare a bit better if you added some Necros and Disks. Black desparately needs a reset button sometimes and Moat is a hard card to answer without one. Since you aren't running 2 colors you won't be able to splash cards like Disenchant or Naturalize. Also you might want to consider taking a look at our Rats deck variations and seeing if there are any cards there that fit your deck.

Old School

I think it is great when an "old school" player uses MTG Forge. MTG Forge is a very random introduction to that last couple of years of Magic but hey, Magic is supposed to be fun and it is. (My secret wish list still includes Time Walk, current MTG Forge doesn't skip phases very well.)
