Master Memnarch

Postby Mr.Chaos » 05 Mar 2009, 20:19

This is a deck aimed at the human player, although I think the AI can use it as well.

60 Total Cards

24 Creatures
-------------
4x Master of Etherium
4x Memnarch
4x Ornithopter
4x Shield Sphere
4x Silver Myr
4x Vedalken Archmage

16 Spells
----------
4x Ancestral Recall
4x Echoing Truth
4x Mox Sapphire
4x Sensei's Divining Top

20 Land
--------
4x Darksteel Citadel
12x Island
4x Seat of the Synod

28 mana sources may seem like a lot, but you want to get to 7 mana as quick as you can so you can bring Memnarch into play.
I know the purists amongst you won't like the 4 moxes but this is MTGForce, not tournament level Magic! So I play 4 of each card I feel I need in the deck.
If you have a Vedalken Archmage in play as well as 2 or 3 of the zero mana artifacts and are short on cards, use Echoing Truth on the free artifacts to get them in your hand and cast them to get a free card from the Archmage.
(this "combo" is actually the reason to go for Shield Sphere over Steel Wall since the sphere is free and the wall costs 1)

This is the deck that, when Memnarch turned Liliana Vess into an artifact, produced 2 copies of Vess to appear in play.
In that same game, compy played Pongify on my first Master of Etherium.
Well played, but I did not like it.

Well sometimes the AI is surprisingly good.

Don't you love wierd errors sometimes? (Well I don't love them if the game is close and I'm intent on winning.)

Have you added all of the token jpgs to your copy of Forge? I find that I now enjoy Pongify where as before it was one of my least favorite token creating cards.

I like the free card draws through Echoing Truth and Vedalken Archmage, bouncing back Shield Sphere, Ornithopter and the Moxes.
An added benefit of course is that it resets Shield Sphere to a 0/6 again. Nice combo.

True, sometimes the AI is surprisingly good. Usually it's completely stupid though

I like the deck. Nice use of the zero-artifacts. Very creative.

Thanks for sharing.
